The spokesperson of the National Development and Reform Commission welcomes new faces again!
On May 18, the National Development and Reform Commission held a regular press conference in May, and the new director of the Policy Research Office and concurrently the spokesman of the committee, Jin Xiandong, appeared.
Until the beginning of this year, the four spokesmen of the National Development and Reform Commission were Zhao Chenxin, Yuan Da, Yan Pengcheng and Meng Wei.
In February this year, Yan Pengcheng, former director of the Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission and press spokesman, went to Hebei to serve as vice governor.
The last director of the Policy Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission was Yuan Da. Zheng Zhi (WeChat ID: upolitics) noted that on May 14, Yuan Da went to Changchun to investigate in his new capacity as the director of the Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Public information shows that Jin Xiandong, born in November 1964, Ishito, Zhejiang, is a master's student.
Jin Xiandong was previously the deputy director general of the Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, and he has rich experience in economic and social policy formulation, and has served as an assistant researcher in the Comprehensive Department of the State Planning Commission, a researcher in the Economic Department of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, and the director of the Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission. In June 2011, he went to Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province as assistant to the mayor.
Zheng Zhijun found that at least in April 2016, Jin Hyun-dong had appeared in the media as deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission's Department of Comprehensive National Economy.
According to the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Policy Research Office is responsible for drafting important documents and reports of the National Development and Reform Commission, organizing research on major issues in economic and social development, reform and opening up and international economy, and organizing news publicity, public opinion guidance and expected management.
Yuan Da, who previously served as the director of the Political Research Office, has been transferred to the General Department. According to public reports, on May 14, Yuan Da, as the director of the Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, conducted research in Changchun City.

At today's press conference, Jin Hyun-dong spent one hour introducing the basic operation of the macro-economy in April and answering 10 questions from reporters, many of which were the focus of social concern.
In response to the indefinite suspension of all activities under the China-Australia Strategic and Economic Dialogue mechanism, he said that the China-Australia Strategic economic dialogue mechanism is an important mechanism under the regular meetings between the Chinese and Australian prime ministers. Under the framework of the mechanism, the two sides have held strategic dialogues on key issues in the economic and investment fields of the two countries, which has played a positive role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
Jin Xiandong said that in recent years, the Australian federal government has unreasonably restricted and suppressed China-Australia investment and trade cooperation projects and existing achievements, which has damaged mutual trust between the two countries and seriously affected the confidence of enterprises to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation. In this regard, we have to make a legitimate and necessary response, and the Australian side should bear full responsibility for this. We urge the Australian side to view China-Australia cooperation objectively and rationally, treat Chinese enterprises fairly and justly, stop the erroneous acts of interfering with investment and trade cooperation between the two countries, and take action to promote the healthy development of China-Australia relations.
In addition, in view of the large number of business environment assessment rankings released in the name of "state" and "China" in the current society, there is a phenomenon of misleading the public, Jin Xiandong responded that the National Development and Reform Commission will investigate and deal with relevant parties, resolutely cut off the "interest chain" behind the business environment assessment, strictly prohibit the use of the opportunity to carry out business environment assessment, collect participation fees and training fees from local governments and market entities, and strictly prohibit collecting "benefit fees" and "sponsorship fees" from local governments and market entities in the name of upgrading their ranks and awarding awards.

According to the list of spokespersons of the central ministries and commissions released at the beginning of this year, the NDRC has set up four press spokesmen, namely: Zhao Chenxin, secretary general of the National Development and Reform Commission, Yuan Da, then director of the Political Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission, Yan Pengcheng, then director of the National Economic Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Meng Wei, deputy director of the Political Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission.

In September 2020, Zhao Chenxin was appointed Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission. In February, he became a member of the Party Group of the National Development and Reform Commission.
On April 18, 2019, Yuan Da completed his debut at the press conference of the National Development and Reform Commission. With a doctorate in economics, he has been engaged in macroeconomic situation analysis for a long time since working in the National Development and Reform Commission in 2000. In 2018, he "transferred" to the Political Research Office, responsible for policy research and news and publicity. "Rigorous and professional at work is not lacking in people-friendly, and the sunshine in life is very warm," office colleagues said of him.
Yan Pengcheng, born in December 1972, entered Lanzhou University in 1990, entered Peking University in 1994 to pursue a master's degree, and after graduation, entered the People's Daily, successively serving as deputy director and director of the editor-in-chief office of Market Newspaper, and then went to the General Office of the State Council and the State Council Emergency Management Office to perform his duties.
In 2015, Yan Pengcheng was transferred to the National Development and Reform Commission, and in 2016 he was appointed director of the Political Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission, and in 2017, he was also the press spokesman, and in 2018, he was appointed director of the National Economic Comprehensive Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, and continued to serve as the spokesman of the National Development and Reform Commission.
In February this year, the Standing Committee of the 13th People's Congress of Hebei Province announced that due to the needs of work, Handan City elected Yan Pengcheng as a deputy to the 13th Provincial People's Congress. On February 22, Yan Pengcheng was elected vice governor of the People's Government of Hebei Province.
After taking up his new post, Yan Pengcheng also became the youngest vice governor of Hebei Province.
Meng Wei is currently the deputy director of the Policy Research Office. She is the first female spokesperson since the NDRC established the press conference system. Meng Wei, who has a dual professional background of master's degree in economics and doctor of law, has been serving in the NDRC for 20 years before her debut at the press conference on May 18, 2017, and has worked in four departments, including the Price Regulation and Control Department of the State Development Planning Commission, the Economic Policy Coordination Department of the National Development Planning Commission, the Laws and Regulations Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Policy Research Office, and served as the deputy director of the Department of Laws and Regulations of the National Development and Reform Commission.
