Cheng Zhaocai (1874~1929), December 20, 1874 (November 12, 13th year of Qing Tongzhi) Cheng Zhaocai was born in a poor peasant family, his grandfather Cheng Shun and father Cheng Yongyi, both long-term workers. The family has 4 acres of sand and 3 grass houses. The family was poor, there was no overnight food, and there was often a lack of cover clothing. Since the age of 12, Cheng Zhaocai has been herding pigs, doing miscellaneous work, and doing small jobs for large families in the village. Slightly longer, not only is he industrious and frugal and praised by his relatives and friends, but he is also praised by his neighbors for his cleverness and versatility, such as the horizontal flute, the banhu, the siren and other instruments. Every year, the first month of the flower party, the villagers are vying to see him dress up as a girl, at the age of 15, he became a famous local song corner. He was a young man with ambitions and felt that it was difficult to make a difference if he was illiterate. Therefore, pay attention to many parties and use possible opportunities to learn to recognize words from all literate people. When he was 18 years old, the village's "Ancient Locust Hall" private school hired Kim So-jae to teach, and Cheng Zhaocai often secretly learned to read with Mr. Jin from the window, listening to the stories in "The Wonders of Ancient Times" and "Chatting about The Strangeness of Jai Zhiyi". Soon he learned the "Hundred Family Names", "Three Character Classic", "Thousand Character Text" and other enlightenment books, and in his leisure time, he used branches to ghostwrite and the beach as paper, practicing writing, and even rough ink. He married at the age of old, in order to support his family, worshiped the lotus flower fall artist Jin Kaifu (golden long legs) as a teacher, learned to sing lotus flowers, and participated in the second class.

Cheng Zhaocai Memorial Hall is a patriotic education base in Luannan County, located in Chengnan Street, Luannan County, jointly invested and built by the four levels of governments of the state, Hebei Province, Tangshan City and Luannan County. The total area is 7026 square meters, and the construction area is 1621 square meters; it is an imitation of the Qing Dynasty architectural form.
Mr. Cheng Zhaocai, stage name Dong Lai Shun, was born on December 20, 1874, and was ill on March 8, 1929. Mr. Cheng composed 121 plays before his death, representative works include "Yang Sanjie's Complaint", "Flowers as Media", "Du Shiniang", etc., is an outstanding playwright in the history of Chinese theater, the founder of the art of commentary, and is revered as "Shakespeare of the East".
The front of the memorial hall has three door openings, the middle is the gate under the upper bow, and the two sides are equipped with small doors of the same shape and symmetry; the gate has the golden yellow name of the "Cheng Zhaocai Memorial Hall" inscribed by Comrade Gao Zhanxiang himself, and the upper part of the gate is an antique gate tower covered with green glazed tiles, and the eaves at both ends of the gate tower are decorated with "partridge kisses", which has a strong national style, and the door opening is a closed and divided architectural form. Between the gate and the Cheng Zhaocai Memorial Exhibition Hall, stands a 3.2-meter-high standing granite statue of Mr. Cheng. The exhibition hall is a temple-style building, the front porch has 6 large red columns, painted eaves and beams, various forms, and Mr. Cheng's representative works "Flowers as Media", "Yang Sanjie's Complaint", "Du Shiniang" and other pictures. The exhibition hall is lined with nine pairs of format door panels, flanked by scripts, costumes, props and related materials written by Mr. Wang. To the left and right of the hall are two small enclosed courtyards. The north side of the hall is the cemetery of Mr. Cheng, the cemetery is a high platform foundation, along the three sides of the steps, the tomb on three sides of the cement column fence, the tomb is hemispherical, the diameter is 2.5 meters, buried into the bones of Mr. Cheng, a stone stele in front of the tomb; after the tomb is an epitaph, engraved with a brief biography of Mr. Cheng. The entire cemetery is surrounded by pines and cypresses.

The memorial hall broke ground in 1987 and was inaugurated on December 20, 1989, and on the occasion of its opening, experts and scholars from all over the country gathered in Mr. Cheng's hometown to carry out colorful commemorative activities. In December 1996, the Luannan County CPC Committee and the Luannan County People's Government named the Cheng Zhaocai Memorial Hall as a county-level patriotic education base.
Nowadays, the staff of the memorial hall is seriously studying and sorting out Mr. Cheng's life deeds, constantly summarizing the spiritual essence of Mr. Cheng's dedication to art, dedication to reform, continuous innovation, and Mr. Cheng's immortal merits in the history of the development of China's theater. In 1988, the novella "Cheng Zhaocai" was performed by the Hebei Provincial Drama Theatre; in 1992, Gu Jingfeng and Yang Haiguang co-edited "Cheng Zhaocai and Yang Sanjie" participated in the drama festival held by the Ministry of Culture in Beijing and received praise; during the "First Tangshan Drama Art Festival" in 2000, a ceremony was held to pay respects to the Cheng Zhaocai Memorial Hall, and the delegates, reporters and critics gave high praise to the overall structure, rational layout and good environment of the Cheng Zhaocai Memorial Hall.
