Jiangzhujun (yún) or Jiangzhujun (jūn)? Last night's "News Network" was the right voice for me

author:Broadcast China

Last night, in a series of reports entitled "Striving for a Hundred Years, Embarking on a New Journey: Counting Popular Figures," the "News Network" recalled the people's musician Xian Xinghai and the indomitable hero Jiang Zhujun. While listening to Kang Hui's oral broadcast and Guo Zhijian's voice, he heard the broadcast of "Jiang Zhujun (jūn)".

As a foreigner living in Shudi, there is no lack of sensitivity to the pronunciation of the character 匀. One is that in the pronunciation of the place name, The County of Junlian, located in Yibin City, the first city of the Yangtze River, has a special note in the various dictionaries: 筠 (jūn) Lian - The four mountains are all bamboo, and the color is connected, because it is called The Junlian. Second, as a common word in ancient Chinese, there are meanings of green bamboo.

As the prototype of the novel "Red Rock" Jiang Jie, Jiang Zhujun from Zigong, Sichuan, the media in Sichuan and Chongqing can see the introduction of the meaning of his personal name from time to time. In addition, the principle of "remembering less and not remembering more" - except for the place name "jūn lian", most of them are pronounced as "yún".

What should "Jiang Zhujun" read? When he hesitated, he consulted the data and attacked it again. In fact, the pronunciation of Jiang Zhujun has always been controversial. In the 2001 bound edition of "Biting and Chewing Words", the article "What to Read in the Name of a Person" published in the 7th issue of the "Zhengyin Room" column of that year has such a view:

As a personal name, in ancient times there were Wen Tingjun and Wang Tingjun (Jin Dynasty writers, calligraphers and painters), and modern Jiang Zhujun. The Book of Rites has a cloud: "It is also in people, such as bamboo arrows." The author's meaning is that to be a human being should be like bamboo "with skin", the so-called "shame in doing one's own deeds". "Isn't it easy to understand that Sister Jiang took the name of Jun?"

Another blog post wrote that the pronunciation of polysyllabic words should be determined in relation to the specific locale. "Jiang Zhujun", "Jiang" is the surname, and "Zhujun" is the name. People often rely on "name" to pin their pursuits. Obviously, as a revolutionary woman, the name of "bamboo" is actually a self-metaphor for "bamboo", and "bamboo" is known for its noble integrity.

"Many of them are called Jiang Zhu yún, and the Zigong fellow villagers who are Sister Jiang have never called it that, and the relatives of Sister Jiang who are still alive do not call it that way." However, according to the research of a number of scholars, "How should I pronounce the name of Sister Jiang" published in Guangming Daily ten years ago? " may be used as a pronunciation reference. The original text reads:

First, Sister Jiang's nickname when she was born was Xueqin, and from the age of 5, when she was studying in Mongolia, her father gave her the scientific name "Jiang Zhujun", which had not changed until she was arrested and imprisoned. The surviving certificate issued to her by the Zhonghua Vocational School in 1940 and her subsequent entrance registration form for the National Sichuan University are written on this name.

Second, the word "Jiang Zhujun", which was later changed to another word, was a pseudonym she temporarily took after she was arrested and imprisoned. But the pseudonym did not change the pronunciation of her name, just a homophone. In our Zigong, including the whole of Sichuan, from ancient times to the present, this "筠" character has been pronounced as "jun (jun)". The late Tang Dynasty poet Wen Tingjun's "筠" character, we all all pronounce "jun". Sichuan has an ancient city that has existed since the Han Dynasty, "Junlian", which used to be a prefecture, then a county and a city, and now it is still called "Junlian" in Mandarin.

Unforgettable word for word. For the pronunciation of Jiang Jie's archetypal name, it can be said that there is a deep understanding again - the pronunciation of personal names cannot be taken from their own meanings and misread their names.
