Song Lian (1310-1381), first name Shou, character Jinglian. Famous politicians, writers, historians, and thinkers of the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties, together with Gao Qi and Liu Ji, were called "the three great poets of the early Ming Dynasty", and together with Zhang Yi, Liu Ji, and Ye Chen, they were called "Mr. Four Gentlemen of Zhejiang Dongsi". He was praised by Zhu Yuanzhang, the Ming Emperor, as "the head of the founding ministers", and scholars called him Taishi Gong and Song Longmen.
