What is Vibrio marine vulnificus

Vibrio vulnificus, commonly known as Vibrio marine, is a bacterium that inhabits the ocean. It is widely distributed in subtropical shallow waters and estuarine environments, and is commonly found in aquatic animals such as oysters, clams, crabs, scallops, shrimps, and fish, as well as sediments and plankton. It is an important pathogenic bacteria of "mermaid comorbid disease". The bacteria can cause infection by infecting wounds through damaged wounds, eating contaminated seafood, water sources, or soaking in seawater.

If the wound is exposed to seawater containing this bacterium, Vibrio vulnificus can multiply in the wound, potentially triggering ulceration and even tissue necrosis. If you eat contaminated seafood, you may also suffer from gastroenteritis. If infected with vibrio, the two most common clinical manifestations are wound infection and primary sepsis.

In general, such infections are mostly mild, but in high-risk groups, such Vibrio infections can spread rapidly and lead to myositis and myositis, triggering severe gangrene.

People with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to infection

Symptoms after V. vulnificus infection include vomiting, fever, diarrhea, hypotension, swelling and pain, etc., the clinical manifestations are mainly soft tissue infection, sepsis, gastroenteritis 3 major symptoms, the vast majority of patients in the hospital within 1-2 days due to multi-organ failure and death, mortality rate is higher than 70%. Most case reports suggest that people with weakened immune systems are most susceptible to this deadly bacterium.
