On October 22, 2021, Sun Peng, vice president of the Hainan Open Economy Research Institute, was appointed deputy secretary-general of the Beibu Gulf Development Committee of the China Regional Economic Association.
It is reported that the Beibu Gulf Development Professional Committee of the Chinese Regional Economic Association is committed to organizing and promoting the academic research and exchange of major issues such as the Beibu Gulf Strategic Planning and the Opening Development Strategy for the New Era, the construction of the Beibu Gulf City Cluster, the Beibu Gulf Port Industry and Ecological Environmental Protection, the Beibu Gulf Marine Economy and Marine Development and Protection, the China-ASEAN Cooperation and Exchange, the Beibu Gulf International Interprovincial Cooperation and the Cooperative Development of Urban Ports, the New Land-Sea Corridor in the Western Region and the Seaward Economic Belt. The committee brings together a large number of cross-field, interdisciplinary, cross-departmental experts, scholars, practitioners and entrepreneurs, with the mission of promoting and strengthening the overall, strategic, comprehensive, innovative and forward-looking research of the Beibu Gulf, and contributing to the promotion of high-level openness and high-quality development of the Beibu Gulf region.
