According to previous reports, Kyle Lowry joined the Heat by signing first and then changing.
Lowry updated Instagram today to post a long autographed farewell to the Raptors, the following is the content of the article:
When I was only 26 years old and still looking for my way out, I began to realize that I was valuable in this alliance, but I did not yet understand how to be the leader I should be. I was trying to find trust in a competitive league, I wanted to be the best version of myself, but I didn't know how to get there, that's when I came into the unknown, to a new team, a new city, a new country, and I didn't know at the time that I was going to call this place home for the next 9 years. It's been tough to write this, and now my story is in the next chapter, but my bond with you will never break, and I have so much to say about the city of Toronto, to Canada, I just can't write it all down. From the very beginning, the city welcomed me with open arms, that excitement, that enthusiasm, that hope! For me personally, that was a good start, but for a team to succeed, we went through ups and downs, but that's what the sport is, right? The city loves me dearly, and on a few occasions, I had doubts and the idea of trading away from the team, but this never became my plan! Haha, from the first time in many years to playoffs, there are several times to be swept, one step away from the Finals, to finally reach the Finals to win the championship! All the ups and downs are worth it, it's all part of the journey. Toronto will always be my second home, and I will always be closely associated with the Raptors, the city, the country.
I want to thank BC (Bobby Webster) and Eves for making this deal happen, Marseille (Ujerry) and Bobby for going through it with me and allowing me to grow, and Dwayne Casey for telling me not to shoot and pull out three-pointers, hahaha, but he still believes in me and accepts me as myself. Thanks to all the managers I've been through along the way, there are so many names to mention (I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing) and all in all, you were all part of my formative years to make me a player I am now. Thank you to the Raptors' bosses for giving these guys the confidence and the opportunity to feed my family, friends, and my future generation.
A special tribute to that champion team, we did something different together, Nick (NAS), you inspired me to be even better, I thank you!! Tynadle, my brother, you know we've had friendships since childhood, forever brothers... (There are too many people, if I miss you, don't worry, I'll think of you at some point)
The team's medical team has kept me as healthy as possible and I want to thank you guys! Love all of you! The team's PR department, JQ, Roven, Phill, thank you for always understanding me and helping me through some tough times. And the team's community team, and for many seasons, you've helped me show my love to this city and this country. Along the way, everyone I met, all the friends I made, the shops I went to, my partners, became my family.
Drake, AKA6 god, you showed me love from the beginning, and as you grow into one of the best in history, so does the team you ambassador for. You have helped us reap the love we deserve from all over the world! Thank you, brother!!
I met my best friend DeMar (DeRozan) in this city, and without the city, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to forge that friendship with him. Of all the team-mates I've experienced in Toronto, I've been lucky enough to be able to play alongside them.
The 2019 championship squad, OG (Anunoby), Chris (Boucher), Mark (Gasol), Danny (Green), Sergei (Ibaka), Cowy (Leonard), Jeremy Lin, Pascal (Siakam), Fred (VanVleet), Norman (Powell)... We have gone through this journey hand in hand, which will never be forgotten, brought the Golden Cup to this city, to this country, we will never be forgotten, love all of you.
Toronto, your current squad is bright, with Pascal, OG and Fred, my little brother, you have built the foundation and will continue to grow, I love you guys!!
I have given my blood, sweat and tears, I have given everything I have !!!
Thank you, Toronto, thank you, Canada, this will always be my home!!!
