As a child of Angang Steel, she took over the baton in the hands of her father and continued to contribute her light and heat to the construction of Angang Steel. Out of the university door, she did not choose a comfortable working environment, but went deep into the production line, took the initiative to ask for a shift internship, and tracked the production experiment on the spot, which was three years.

Suddenly, she has been working in Angang for 27 years, from a girl with a dream, to now she has white hair on her sideburns. Time is changing, what remains unchanged is her inner dedication to the cause, and the unremitting pursuit of the Angang spirit of "innovation, truth-seeking, hard work and dedication".

The integration of production, education and research has achieved the country's heavy weapon

The need of the country is the direction of research and development. In the face of the need to import high-end materials in China, the cost of equipment manufacturing has been greatly increased, and the autonomy and controllability of materials are poor, Yan Ling accurately grasped the direction, declared a series of blank varieties as major scientific and technological projects at the provincial and ministerial levels and companies, and focused on tackling key problems. She united well-known universities, research institutes and offshore users to form a "production, study and research" team, conquered a number of high-end marine steel varieties, filled the domestic gap, successfully used in a number of major marine engineering projects, and achieved the first domestic launch.

In 2013, ciMC Raffles City, China's largest offshore engineering company, designed the "Blue Whale One" platform and prepared to select F-class ultra-high strength steel in the most critical parts. This design is the first time in the world. At that time, CIMC was facing foreign product monopolies and technical blockades, and the cost of imported steel was extremely high, which would cause a significant increase in the cost of the entire project, and the delivery time could not be guaranteed. If the construction period is delayed, the economic losses can be as high as hundreds of thousands of dollars per day.

Faced with this dilemma, CIMC Raffles was impatient and set its sights on domestic steel mills. After investigation, they found that only Angang Steel has this ability. After in-depth communication with the ANGANG team, the two sides signed a supply agreement. CIMC Raffles city wants ANSC to deliver the steel plate within 3 months.

After receiving the task, Yan Ling quickly threw herself into the research. People familiar with scientific research work know that the research and development of high-end products requires a cycle from material design, process formulation, production, to performance evaluation. After a few rounds, the performance was always abnormal and fluctuating, and the emotions of the players could not help but be frustrated. At this time, Yan Ling, as the backbone of the team, constantly cheered and encouraged everyone, and made key innovations and optimizations in the research plan with solid theoretical and practical experience. From the laboratory to the scene, to the inspection room, she fought continuously, analyzed and checked nearly a hundred parameters, and finally found the cause of performance fluctuations. The new material has finally been successfully developed! Angang Steel has become the only steel enterprise in Asia with F-class offshore steel supply qualifications, helping the mining of "combustible ice" in the ultra-deep waters of the South China Sea to succeed.

Accelerate the upgrading and be the pioneer of scientific and technological effectiveness

Ship plate and marine engineering steel account for more than 40% of the production capacity of Angang steel medium and thick plate, with its high output and multi-variety, it has become the key to the effectiveness of angang steel's four medium and thick plate production lines. As the technical leader of the research and development of steel for marine engineering of Angang Steel Ship Plate, Yan Ling will focus on improving the added value of products and increasing the market share of high-end products.

Container marine high-strength ultra-thick anti-cracking steel plate is currently the world's most high-end products in the field of marine steel, which is still blank in China. The monopoly of technology and products formed by Japan and South Korea has led to a great reduction in the competitiveness of China's box ship market.

In the face of the urgent needs of the market, Yan Ling led the R&D team to devote herself to the core technology of anti-cracking steel. The production of extra-thick, ultra-wide anti-crack steel is an extreme challenge, both in terms of technical level and equipment capabilities. With solid theoretical knowledge and rich practical experience, she has broken through a number of key technical bottlenecks.

After eight months of research, Yan Ling led the R&D team to develop a full range of ultra-high and strong anti-crack steel plates with the largest thickness for the first time in China, and passed the certification of multinational classification societies. In the competition with JFE, POSCO and other internationally renowned steel companies, it exclusively won the bid for the supply order of 20,000 boxes of super-large containers with excellent comprehensive performance, and realized the localization demonstration application of this high-end material for the first time. Since then, they have successively undertaken more than ten orders for the supply of containers under construction, such as 17,000, 22,000 and 24,000 boxes. Angang Steel's domestic market share of this variety has reached more than 90%. In the past ten years, the cumulative effectiveness of new steel products for offshore equipment she has presided over has reached 240 million yuan.
