Chengdu, June 20 (China News Network) Reporter Zhang Lang learned from the Dachuan District Bureau of the Public Security Bureau of Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, on the 20th that Xiaoxue, a 7-year-old girl in Shiti Town, Dachuan District, was swept away by the surging flood on the afternoon of the 19th. At the moment of crisis when his life was hanging on the line, Wang Zhou, a police officer at the Shiti police station, tied a lifeline around his waist, passed through the turbulent flood, and rescued the girl under the joint pull of the police on the shore and returned to the shore safely. After examination by the hospital, the girl who fell into the water is currently in no serious condition, but has been frightened.

After several days of torrential rains, the floodwaters along the Shiti Zhenba River gradually rose, and the water flowed rapidly. At about 4 p.m. on the 19th, the Shiti Police Station in Dachuan District received a call from Du Mingjun, secretary of the Shiti Community, saying that near the Shiti Wharf, a little girl was trapped in the flood and was clinging to the tree in the flood, which had been maintained for more than an hour, and the situation was very critical.

After receiving the alarm, director Wang Xu led the police Wang Zhou, auxiliary police Officer Cheng Caishan and Zhou Hongnian to the scene to rescue. Under the guidance of the alarm masses, the police found the trapped little girl. "She was stranded in the backflow of the river not far from the shore, her face was pale, and she was in a very bad condition." The police told reporters that at this time, there were still waves of floods rushing down from the upstream, forming a turbulent whirlpool at the return stream. Without thinking too much, the police officer Wang Zhou picked up the life rope and tied it to his body, took the lifebuoy and jumped into the flood. Wang Zhou struggled to swim to the little girl, and after many attempts, he finally succeeded in saving the little girl, and with the help of community cadres and colleagues on the shore, pulled the little girl to the river bank and sent her to the hospital in time.

According to the police, the child who fell into the water was named Xiaoxue, who was 7 years old this year. In the afternoon of the incident, Xiaoxue and a few friends were playing by the stone ladder dock, and during the playing, Xiaoxue saw a basketball floating in the upper reaches of the Ba River, so he went into the flood to pick up the basketball, and was swept away by the flood. Fortunately, the snow was swept up by the flood and hugged the tree at the backflow. Several of the children in the group were overwhelmed. Fortunately, about an hour later, passers-by passed by the shore, only to learn from a few children that Xiaoxue fell into the water and asked the police for help, and Xiaoxue was rescued. (End)
