Kim Jong-un visits the Palace of the Sun

Pyongyang, 16 Apr (Xinhua) -- On 15 April, The DPRK's "Sun Festival" was celebrated, and Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, and his wife Lee Seok-joo went to the Sun Palace on Mount Jinxiu in Pyongyang on the same day to commemorate this festival.

According to the KCNA report on the 16th, Kim Jong-un presented flower baskets to kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il-ri statues in his personal name, and paid homage to the remains of the two deceased supreme leaders with his wife. Members of the leading body of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the masses, and officers and men of the Korean People's Army also went to the Sun Palace on the same day to attend the meeting.

The Sun Palace at Fairview Mountain, located on the northeastern outskirts of Pyongyang, houses the remains of North Korea's late supreme leaders, Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il.

According to the report, Kim Jong-un and his wife also watched the theatrical performance "Always Follow the Party" held to celebrate the "Sun Festival" on the same day.

On the 15th, the streets of Pyongyang were a festive scene, and the masses and officers and men of the People's Army from all over the country presented flower baskets and bouquets to the bronze statue of the leader. Various celebrations were also held throughout North Korea, including dance parties and flower performances.

Sun Festival, the anniversary of the birth of North Korea's late supreme leader Kim Il Sung, is one of the most important holidays in the country.
