Wei Wei's 800-mile Taihang refers to the mountain range that runs between the three provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, and Henan, and people used to divide the Taihang Mountains into three sections, namely The Northern Taihang, the Western Taihang, and the Southern Taihang. The part located in Henan Province is called Nantaihang, in fact, Nantaihang is mainly distributed in Xinxiang, Jiaozuo, Anyang and Jiyuan in Henan, which is most represented by Xinxiang. China National Geographic magazine said: "Taihang Mountain, gave the most beautiful section to Henan", referring to the South Taihang. The southern Taihang wall stands on a thousand feet, flying waterfalls and flowing springs, and has both the majesty of the northern mountains and the spiritual beauty of the southern water. Walking into the South Taihang, the eyes are full of emerald green, the stream is babbling, and the fragrance of flowers is fragrant. Through the trails, stone paths, climbing steps, into the cave, a waterfall and a pool of the first time to show. The Chinese Spirit Stone, the Kaitian Stone Waterfall, the Rock Sacred Tree, the Stacked Stone Forest Canyon, and the Seven Stars Are the Wonders of the World.
In the 1980s, I embarked on the road of photography art, and since then, I have used the camera as a pen to express local feelings, do my best to photograph the beautiful scenery of my hometown, and shoot a large number of good works that reflect the beautiful scenery of The Southern Taihang, which has won praise and affirmation from the photography circles inside and outside the province.
First, the wall is too long - accumulated day by day, hard work
I grew up bathed in the Taihang Mountain wind and sucked the milk of Taihang Mountain, and I have had a kind of dependence on the Taihang Mountain since I was a child. I still remember when I was a child, I planted land on the hillside, carried dung, dug wild vegetables, followed my grandfather to chisel stones and cut firewood in the mountains, and carried a basket full of dung and sweated on the narrow mountain road. Since I was a child, I have developed a deep affection for the South Taihang Mountains.
I fell in love with photography in my 30s and fell in love with Nan Tai Xing in the lens. In order to create, I disregarded the wind, rain, snow and ice, got up early and took the dark, carrying heavy photographic equipment along the mountain stream ancient road, stone wall ladder, grasshopper path, steep stone path, I don't know how many miles I walked, spring, summer, autumn and winter, morning and dusk, wind and rain, fog and snow, ice and snow, muddy water splashing, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, more than a dozen trips, this walk is decades, indulging in the thousands of mountains and stones of the South Taihang Mountains, such as silver waterfalls, deep pools of blue waves, majestic temples, fascinating caves, Fascinating legends. Heavy ink depicts too many lines.
Every year in the typical seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, and the special weather of wind, rain, fog and snow, I will go to the South Taihang Mountains to stay in January and a half, looking for a creative opportunity that corresponds to my soul and can produce emotions. I like to go to the Taihang Mountains in winter to shoot, and most of them choose special weather in fog and snow. The desolation and solemnity of the Taihang Mountains can only be displayed under these special atmospheres. The mysterious and quiet Taihang in the snow fog is a picture of smoke clouds shrouded in ink, like clouds not clouds, like fog not fog, hazy and unreal, confusing; the emergence of the sea of clouds makes Taihang even more bizarre, and the clouds rising from the mountain streams will suddenly gather into a sea of clouds, covering the mountains under the feet with great momentum, rolling and dancing silently. In the heavy snow, Taihang is reckless, dignified, and covered with snow, covering the sky, the canyon is as imposing as a rainbow, the cliffs are proud of the wind and snow, and the red walls under the cover of snow are like iron bones. I also like to shoot in the summer, in the Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon, sometimes see the shade of the sun, the stream babbling, when smelling the waterfall pouring silver, rare birds flying; stop at the mountain, can see the stars and moon wandering, strange peaks change, can overlook the clouds and the sea, colorful XiaMu day, ghostly craftsmanship, amazing, majestic and dangerous, breathtaking. In the grand works of this 100-mile gallery, each canyon and mountain peak presents its own unique style, especially the elegance of Wang Mangxia, the majesty of Huilong gorge, and the wonder of Black Dragon Pond, which is the most fascinating and unforgettable. I also like to shoot at night, at night, the song of the canyon and the river, roaming in loneliness, as if the dream is singing, intertwined with the falling and shining stars and sand, the fragrant clouds stretch out the soft body, revealing the light veil, the gentle shadows and the magnificent scenery of the mountains and rivers, filling the vast land. At this time, you can shoot the "road in the sky" - the star track, draw a silver wire-like circle, and echo with the peak of the Taihang Mountain, which is intriguing. You can also tap the headlights of the mountain stream and draw a line of golden lines with a slow door, like a golden dragon dancing wildly.
Facing the wall is too far, in order to seize the characteristics of the Taihang Mountain, look for the highlights of the Taihang Mountain, and grasp the shining point of the Taihang Mountain. Maybe it is their own singleness, perhaps their own obsession, more than 30 years of persistence and hard work, some photos reflecting the scenery of Taihang have been affirmed by industry insiders and experts. Through photography, I show the beauty of my hometown Taihang, so that more people know Taihang and walk into Taihang, which is the most gratifying thing for me.
Second, feel the taixing - get along day and night, and imprint each other's hearts
Many people think that I have experience in taking pictures in The Taihang Mountains, predicting weather changes, knowing the time and direction of the sea of clouds... But where do they know the real mystery of it - only by running in the mountains all year round, living with the mountains day and night, and imprinting their hearts with the mountains, can they understand the truth.
Born as a Taihang Mountain man, I took pictures with my heart, coupled with my understanding of Taihang Mountain and the understanding of the scenery, and strived to show his most beautiful. When it's windy, which angles are good; where the snow is heavy, where the composition is beautiful; which rocks in the ditch are beautiful; what effects appear in each place and under what atmosphere, I know very well.
From my own work, I clearly saw my own shadow and recalled the story behind the work. In the wind, in the snow, in the rain, in the fog, in the thunder and lightning, I am with the Taihang Mountains, feeling every aspect of him, feeling another kind of beauty of him.
Landscape photography, only by really going deep into it, and shooting with a rigorous, non-utilitarian, not impetuous mentality, can we really gain something. Familiar with the shooting environment is to achieve "time and place", and it is difficult to get rid of mediocrity in photography that relies on curiosity and luck. To shoot a unique Taihang Mountain scenery work, it is difficult to absorb the true nature of Taihang and understand the charm of Taihang by relying solely on the photographic methods of "dragonfly dotting water" and "walking around and watching flowers", relying on a momentary sense of freshness and instant visual stimulation.
Third, watch over the Taixing - the old Ji Futuo, continue to work hard
In recent years, I have been fortunate to have some of my works awarded, looking back on this road, there are many feelings, if I want to summarize, I think these points are crucial - one is good at learning, worshippers as teachers, I subscribed to photography magazines, newspapers, familiar with photography technology and impressions and other articles, and wrote reading notes and harvest experience; the second is not afraid of suffering, not afraid of tired, actively creating, now I am in my fifties, the body is not too good, but never gave up in the special environment to create, whether it is day and night, Or wind and rain, whether it is ice and snow, or goose feather snow, the more these harsh environments, the more I can shoot good works, the more I want to appear there; the third is to actively participate in the photography competition, the competition is to test the quality of their own works in the laboratory, no matter how big or small the film festival I participate, and in the competition to learn the strengths of others, to make up for their own shortcomings; the fourth is to have an old and sincere ideological character, unite peers, be sincere, help each other to learn, and improve together.
Majestic and infinite scenery. It's been more than 30 years since I picked up the camera. In these 30 years of photography, I have never left my hometown of Taihang Mountain. I am a Taihang Mountain person, and I have the responsibility to show its beauty. As the shooting time increased, I felt more and more that Taihang Mountain was no worse than other famous mountains and rivers. Now, I am guarding this place that gave birth to me, raised me, and gave me too much creative inspiration, and I must persevere, shoot seriously, shoot with a sense of awe, and if I can shoot the Taihang Mountain well, I will already be satisfied.
