Urumqi, 11 Apr (Reporter Ardak) This reporter learned from the emergency management department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: At 18:10 on 10 April, the Fengyuan Coal Mine mine in Qiergou Town, Hutubi County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, suddenly experienced a water leakage accident in the process of technological transformation, resulting in a power outage and communication interruption in the underground. It is preliminarily understood that there were 29 people on duty at the time of the accident, and so far 8 people have been safely lifted, and 21 people have been trapped.
After the accident occurred, the regional party committee and government immediately launched an emergency plan, raced against the clock to rescue the trapped personnel, demanded that the casualties be minimized, and at all costs, do everything possible to open up rescue channels and go all out to rescue the trapped people; set up a rescue command center, unify and coordinate command, persist in scientific rescue, and strictly prevent secondary accidents; quickly find out the cause of the accident, draw inferences from each other, and thoroughly investigate and rectify potential safety hazards in coal mines and non-coal mines in the whole region one by one.
At present, the autonomous region has organized emergency response, coal supervision, geology, electric power, health and other relevant departments and professional rescue teams and equipment to carry out rescue work with all its might, and all kinds of rescue and disposal work is being carried out in an intense and orderly manner.
Bao Yongsheng, vice governor of Changji Prefecture, said that after calculations, the distance between the trapped people and the wellhead is about 1200 meters. After the accident, three sets of drainage devices have been started in the mine to achieve drainage of 450 cubic meters per hour, and the fourth set of drainage devices is being installed, and 900 cubic meters per hour will be drained after being put in.
Meng Xianmin, director of the Changji Prefecture Health Commission, said that the 8 people who safely ascended the well were not injured and were in normal physical condition. Ma Xin, director of the Changji Prefecture Emergency Management Bureau, said that after the accident, the underground environment of the mine was very complicated, and the most important work at the moment was drainage.
