"Erotic Emperor" Dindo Barras, are you okay in the epidemic areas of Italy?

author:That painting

In Italy, the average age of those who have contracted the coronavirus is around 80 years old.

"In two weeks, Italy has lost a generation", this is the sentiment of a funeral home owner in the worst-hit province of Bergamo.

In this moment of purgatory, Tu'erjun remembered an old Italian man who had once been popular in China.

Born in 1933, he is now 87 years old and lives in Milan – the hardest hit area of the pandemic and the most vulnerable to the virus.

I wish him a safe ride.

His name was Tinto Brass.

In China, he has a nickname called "Erotic Emperor" – the dislocation of the times, which may have given him a far higher status in China than in the world film industry.

Today, however, he may have been forgotten.

But a generation that lived through the era of pirated discs can still faintly salvage the impression of him in their memories.

◎ He photographed the charm of Italian lust

Tinto Barras, an old Italian man, a squinty fat man who loves to show a small face in his own movies, always smoking a cigar, looks similar to Hitchcock, but ultimately reminds you of Hong Kong's "bad film king" Wang Jing.

Dindo Barras participated in the 2009 Venice Film Festival.

Dingdu Barras, who grew up in the water city of Venice, was nourished by art since childhood, presumably a person who was optimistic and extremely sensitive and loving to the beauty and joy of human beings - is this not the typical Italian we imagine?

In his decades-long career in erotic filmmaking, Tinto Barras has shown the world Italian-style lust, which has shaken the hearts of countless audiences and conceived the perfect image of an Italian girl in their hearts.

Unlike the distortion of Japanese eroticism (often weird and repressed to be difficult to swallow), the hong Kong-style eroticism (there is always a hint of self-contempt and self-contempt of etiquette), the entanglement of French eroticism (philosophy and ethics come out from time to time to pull lang matching, there is a kind of jerky of the teeth), the roughness of American eroticism (seriously doubt that "American" and "erotic" are not compatible, this concept may not be true)... Italian eroticism, which combines the texture of Mediterranean sunshine and classical oil painting, is healthy, frank, unrestrained and exciting, which makes people feel relaxed, fluid flowing, emotional and emotional, and physical and mental pleasure.

Like his predecessor Fellini, Dindo Barras celebrates the sexy female body with its beautiful shots, light and shadow, colors, and compositions. He is accustomed to showing women's desire for lust, and the women in the film are always natural, confident, and self-congratulatory, while the men are vague, or physically and mentally disordered, and even obscene and funny.

Some say he's a feminist director – that's obviously an exaggeration. His perspective is still male playful, but at least there is no sense of oppression, and he will never introduce ethical or even emotional burdens into the film. Maybe it's hedonism, maybe it's cynicism, maybe it's playboy-style deliberate flattery, but isn't love without guilt just what heaven tastes like?

◎ He directed the most magnificent erotic blockbuster in history

Dindo Barras, a happy old man, presumably doesn't dwell on how much artistic value his erotic films have.

Lust is the starting point and the end point of these films.

His only erotic film full of artistic ambitions, perhaps the most expensive and magnificent erotic blockbuster in history, has unsurprisingly flipped over.

▲ "Caligula" has a rigorous script, a strong cast, excellent props, and magnificent scenes, and the director shows strong ambition and artistic pursuit, which cannot be ignored by ordinary erotic films.

This is the famous "Caligula", which believes in the "fist + pillow" sale of pirated plates generally written "Roman Empire Erotic History". It's Dindo Barras's darkest film, telling the story of caligula, the tyrant of the Roman Empire, throughout his short life of sin, atrocities, and bloodshed. The film no longer merely provides images of pleasurable senses, but shows the horror, madness, ugliness, and emptiness of absolute power through the portrayal of the extravagant and lascivious life of a tyrant.

This film will stimulate lust, but also suppress lust, and even make the viewer feel cold and hair upside down. It can be compared to a violent, accelerated version of the Golden Plum, "the one who sees the compassionate, the bodhisattva; the one who fears the heart, the gentleman; the one who rejoices, the little man; the one who takes effect of the Dharma heart, who is the ear of the beast." How many men and women with excess blood and heat waves rush to the top of the name of Dindo Barras and the gimmick of the history of erotic love, but in front of the pictures of yin and yang harmony, spiritual desire, adultery, red and white bursting, such as falling into the ice cave, like approaching the abyss, cracking the tongue, holding the arm and shrinking!

Kaligula was heavily invested in by the adult magazine Loft, and Kass was extremely powerful: starring Malcolm McDowell starring Kubrick's Clockwork Orange, in addition to Peter O'Toole, starring Lawrence of Arabia, and Oscar actress Helen Mirren.

▲ Helen Mirren, who won an Oscar as Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom many years later, starred in "Caligula" on a large scale, almost becoming its black history.

Dindo Barras devoted a lot of effort to it, but he had a disagreement with Gussignoni, the owner of the investor's adult magazine Attic. Gussignoni filmed a lot of pornographic scenes on the set with his own magazine girl on the set, and later took away the editing rights and forced these scenes into the film, making Dindo Barras very angry and helpless - wondering if this was the first and only time he was estrued by eroticism?

◎ He almost directed "Clockwork Orange"

So, don't think that the dozen or so erotic movies summed up the old man's life. Who would dare to say that Dindo Barras only catered to the senses and had no artistic pursuits?

Can you imagine that before entering erotic cinema, he was a well-known avant-garde director. In the 1960s and early 1970s, he made a large number of experimental films, which were hailed by critics as "rebellious, surreal, anarchist up-and-coming". He was commissioned by Umberto Echo (Italian scholar and author of The Name of the Rose) to make a film for the Milan Art Biennale. His films have been featured in many film festivals, and he has been praised as "Italy's Best Film of the Year", and he himself has even been hailed as "Antonioni of the 70s".

Most impressively, in 1968, after the premiere of Dindo Barras's Nerosubianco at the Cannes Film Festival, Paramount immediately met him to give him the job of filming A Clockwork Orange, but Barras wanted to finish another film he had prepared, L'urlo. This hesitation, suddenly lost his arm. After that, "Clockwork Orange" was handed over to Kubrick, and the protagonist used Malcolm McDowell, who later starred in Caligula.

Of course, no one would think that Dindo Barras's "Clockwork Orange" would be better than Kubrick, but a sense of intertwined fate inevitably tempted us to imagine: what kind of form would A Clockwork Orange take in his hands?

Malcolm McDowell excels at showing violent, evil, and neurotic characters.

◎ The painter grandfather gave him "Tintoletto"

Earlier, his roots in art can be traced back to the great Italian painting tradition.

The so-called "Tinto" is actually an abbreviation for "Tintoretto" (the last master of the Venetian school in the sixteenth century).

The nickname was given to his grandfather Italico Brass. And this Italian Covaras, the famous Italian painter of his time, painted lightly, quietly, with a slight impressionist style.

Unlike his squinting grandson, Italia's pen does not have fat buttocks, no wild bees and butterflies, and no sluts, but mostly Venetian landscapes: bridges, sails, churches, canals, lagoons, and the sky. He also paints figures, and most of the women in the paintings are beautiful, beautiful and calm.

Giovanni Barras (later, his name would be embedded with a "dindu", becoming Giovanni "Tinto" Brass) was born in Venice in 1933.

In 1943, his grandfather, Italia Clos Barras, died.

Perhaps before that, the little naughty boy Ding Du, his gaze had already crossed the scenery of his grandfather, crossed the marble porch, penetrated into the posture of the wonderful people under the hot sun, and toured the rich and healthy and beautiful flesh under the brushes or carving knives of the masters——

In the dark forest where the skirt was pulled open,

Crayon little new elephants appear from time to time.
