Fujian Daily, New Fujian Client, October 31 (Reporter Wang Minxia) A few days ago (October 28), the second series of the special postcard "Quanzhou Bay Hundred Birds" held a premiere ceremony.

This series contains a set of 6 postcards, plus the cover of a total of 7 species of precious birds recorded in the Quanzhou Bay Estuary Wetland, including the Painted Ibis, the Chinese Crested Tern, the Curly-winged Pelican, the Black Ibis, the White Ibis, the Little Partridge, and the Rock Heron. Among them, the painted ibis, a national first-class protected animal found for the first time in the southern Fujian region of our province, was photographed by bird watchers in Quanzhou City in Shishi Wetland Park in mid-August.
"The special postcard of Quanzhou Bay Hundred Birds is the first conservation science popularization project in China, mainly using the birds of the Quanzhou Bay Estuary Wetland as the material to publicize and display the ecological beauty of Quanzhou Spirit Birds to the whole country." According to Wu Kechao, president of the Quanzhou Bird Watching Society, in February this year, the first set of postcards on birds in Quanzhou Bay was released, and six representative bird photos such as kingfishers, winter migratory birds black-faced spoonbills, resident birds egrets, traveling birds yellow-billed egrets, lost birds white cranes, and summer migratory birds chestnut-throated hummingbirds were selected as the content of the postcards. Quanzhou Bay Hekou Wetland Nature Reserve, including parts of Quanzhou Shishi, Jinjiang, Luojiang, Fengze and Taiwan Investment Zones, with a total area of 7,000 hectares, is an important habitat for many rare and endangered birds, and is listed by the International Bird Union as a key bird area in China. Among them, Shishi Wetland Park covers an area of 270 hectares, which is the residence and resting place for a large number of migratory birds, and nearly 100 species of birds have been observed here in recent years.
The release of the "Quanzhou Bay Hundred Birds" series of postcards has a positive effect on publicizing the achievements of the natural ecological construction of Quanzhou Bay and improving the awareness of wildlife protection in the whole society.
