Those dangerous tourist destinations that are best not to go (II)

Located 7 miles from Kerry County's spectacular coastline, Skellig Michael Island is a sight to behold. Its twin peaks soar into the Irish sky and attract visitors from the mainland.

If you want to see it, be sure to take care of yourself. There are three landing sites here, each leading to an ancient staircase, posing a great danger. These staircases are carved from stone and are steep and narrow. There are no handrails here, and the 1,000-year-old steps are often slippery. Without realizing the risks involved, tourists often fail, and some even die.

Although bad weather often causes Skellig Michael to lose, it's a place worth a visit. The island has an ancient Gaelic monastery and beautiful wildlife including puffins, gannets and seals. Meanwhile, both films in the new Star Wars franchise have the island as a location.

Those dangerous tourist destinations that are best not to go (II)

Brazil is known for its beautiful beaches, and this is no exception. Recife (a city in northeastern Brazil) is located on the country's stunning northeast coast, with sun-drenched, golden beaches and glittering warm waters.

It's a great place to relax. But if you want to swim in the sea, you have to think twice. The dreaded tiger and bull sharks patrol the coast, always looking for their next victim, and this beach is the most dangerous in the world. Shark attacks have killed 24 people since 1992 and more than 60 incidents have been registered in the region.

In fact, this is not always the case. Marine experts blamed port Suape, not far from here, in the 1980s for disturbing the area's marine life, making it one of the most dangerous swimming spots on earth.

Those dangerous tourist destinations that are best not to go (II)

Located in the upper Amazon Basin, the enchanting Maddidi is an unparalleled natural world. This tropical paradise is home to countless exotic plants and animals, attracting those in search of unspoiled land.

But this is not a place to underestimate, as unprepared adventurers tend to discover this after paying the price. The forests here are very dense, and while getting lost is always dangerous, disorientation is just the beginning.

Dangerous predators wander through the jungle, and panthers, alligators, and anacondas search among the animals for their next meal. Then there are the plants. There are more than 20,000 species of plants here, many of which are highly toxic. Considering the factors of parasites and poisonous spiders, it is clear that this is a remote area that needs to be approached with caution. Bikini Atoll is beautiful. The surrounding ocean shimmers with glowing, enchanting corals, but don't be fooled. There are dangers in this Pacific paradise that you can't imagine. There is no doubt that this is indeed a dangerous destination.

Sharks patrolled the warm waters but found the biggest threat on land. Exposure to harmful radiation in the air is an ongoing risk.

It was here in the 1940s and 1950s that the United States conducted controversial nuclear tests. Several hydrogen and atomic bombs exploded in this remote area, contaminating the land and leaving behind deadly radiation that remains deadly to this day. Scientists declared it safe in the 1990s, but locals who left their homes long ago still refuse to return. It's best to avoid growing produce here anyway, but perhaps the safest option is to avoid this atoll altogether.

The Afar Depression is a charming place. Part of the Great Rift Valley, also known as the Afar Triangle, is a place of geological wonder.

In the vast expanse of Ethiopia and neighboring Eritrea and Djibouti, the constantly moving tectonic plates deep in the surface make it an unpredictable place and fraught with danger, as earthquakes are common here.

If you're over there, be aware that there are cracks and cracks in the sunken valley floor, ready to run. This is the lowest point in all of Africa, and in dangerous depressions, boiling lava never goes too far below the surface. You need to be well prepared to embark on this journey safely.

Those dangerous tourist destinations that are best not to go (II)

Until recently, Sinabon didn't seem to pose much of a threat to tourists. For more than four centuries, indonesia's majestic volcano has been quiet and dormant. But in 2010, Sinabon exploded with devastating consequences.

Since then, the eruptions have hardly stopped. After 400 years of silence, Sinabon made a comeback. In 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, the dangers here are all too obvious.

Located on the island of North Sumatra, Sinabon is picturesque. But it's best to stand in the distance, those who get too close are clearly risking their lives. Indonesia has more than 130 active volcanoes, but The Sinabon volcano poses the greatest threat to life.

At 2460 meters tall, its threat should never be underestimated. In June 2019, when Mount Sinapun erupted, nearly 5 miles of ash was sprayed into the dark sky above Sumatra. In the so-called "volcanic belt" of the Pacific Basin, where earthquakes are commonplace, there is no doubt that it is a dangerous tourist destination.
