Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen (2 May 1892 – 21 April 1918).
Manfred von Richterhofen was a German pilot.
He is known as the ace of ace pilots.
He was the commander of the Fighter Wing.
During World War I, he shot down a total of 80 enemy aircraft.
Richterhofen was born into high society, handsome, determined, courageous, and skilled.
He piloted the "Red Baron" Big Red Albatros three-wing fighter that gave him his name, which swept across the Western Front.
Richter Hoffen's peculiar and immense charm made him one of the most prestigious aerial heroes in the history of human air warfare.
He was killed over the Somme on 21 April 1918 at the age of 25. He was known to the German public as the Red Pilot.
And in the British propaganda machine, he had a well-known nickname: "Red Baron".
The British held a grand funeral for the "Red Baron": in response to Manfred's rank, 6 Allied captains carried the coffin of this great enemy slowly under the guidance of a cleric; when the coffin entered the tomb, the soldiers on both sides fired their guns into the air to show the highest respect!
After World War I, Manfred's body was transported home from the war zone. The Red Baron, the creator of the legendary myth and the supreme aerial ace of the First World War, rested forever in the Necropolis of Severikhof in the Wiesbaden region. 【Photo: Google】
