Earth Rover was hand-built, Colorado-made, and first produced a Dodge Ram 2500 in 1998 for a price (nearly $2 million).
The XV-HD is only four years old (launched in 2017) and is based on Ford's F-750. It is powered by a 6.7-liter power stroke engine with 330 horsepower and 725 pound-feet of torque; It has a Tork Shift HD six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, and surprisingly the powertrain, especially its four-wheel drive and swap shell is much simpler than the Earth Cruiser, and it's heavier (37,000 pounds), which could raise concerns about its true ability to go anywhere. The Earth Cruiser EXP we studied was built on the Mitsubishi Fuso truck chassis as a single or double cab (cab engine) (the company says the Chevrolet chassis will also be available by the end of 2021). It is powered by a 297-horsepower (361 lb-ft) 6.0-liter GM Vortec V-8 gas engine and an Alison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission. EXP's drivetrain is also equipped with a custom Hero two-speed transfer case and Dynatrac Pro Series 80-axis with ARB air lockers (front and rear) for maximum off-road traction. EXP's interior/living area (often referred to as the "house") features an electronically controlled pop-up roof made of 1 inch thick marine-grade material for maximum durability. The house is also fully soundproofed to reduce road noise and maintain temperature consistency. You can personalize your cabin with optional amenities and accessories that best suit the desires and needs of adventurers. Overall, the car seems poised to take any adventurer asking for customization. For those EXPs concerned about parking, it measures 250 inches long (134 inches wheelbase), 104 inches tall (126.5 inches with roof) and 99 inches wide with mirrors that weigh 12,000 pounds.

The Earth Cruiser's Exp is the ability to "go anywhere". A powertrain consisting of GM's 6.0-liter Vortec V-8 gas engine and Alison's 1000 six-speed automatic transmission helped do just that. Custom Hero 2-speed transfer case and Dynatrac Pro Series 80-axis with ARB air locker.

The Earth Cruiser's living area is designed to be functionally efficient while providing all the comforts of a home for extended remote living. The interior has 77.25 inches of space and 87.7 square feet of space. The overall size of the camping box is 166.5 inches. In the actual sleeping area, the cabin is equipped with a full-size mattress with 44 inches of leeway from the mattress to the ceiling. An optional sunroof provides extra sleeping space and doubles as a cover for cab passage.

The fiberglass molded dining area with leather cushions provides under-seat storage and a swinging dining table that converts the dining area into a second bed.

Earth Cruiser EXP: Electrical
Powering and charging electrical equipment is not an issue, as EXP houses have many AC outlets and 12 volt and USB accessory ports. The main control panel (a combination of BEP Marine and Mastervolt units) operates the heating and cooling system, battery power, fresh water monitoring, and the vehicle's LED lights and solar charging system.
