author:Southern Metropolis Daily

It's the New Year, do you need to buy children's shoes for your own children? Recently, Nandu Appraisal reported the sampling results of a variety of children's shoes in the circulation market by the Hainan Provincial Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, and well-known brands such as B. Duck and Babu Bean were listed due to excessive phthalates and unqualified logos. Recently, the Guangzhou Municipal Council and the Macau Consumer Council commissioned a professional third party to carry out a comparative trial of children's shoes. The results showed that 4 of the 36 children's shoe samples failed the phthalate test, involving brands such as Ding Dong and BumbleBee.

Phthalate exceedance was detected

The samples selected in this comparative trial involved 36 children's shoe products from 33 brands, which were randomly purchased by the staff of the Guangzhou and Macao Consumer Councils in Guangzhou, Macau shopping malls and major e-commerce platforms, including Shachi, NIKE, Adidas, Dr.Kong (Dr. Jiang), Paul Frank, etc.

The test results showed that 4 of the 36 children's shoe samples failed the phthalate test. It involves brands such as Tinker Bell and Bumblebee.

Phthalates are collective terms for phthalate forms of esters that act as plasticizers. Studies have shown that phthalates act like estrogens in humans and animals and can interfere with endocrine. The non-dye printed part, coating part, plastic accessory part of footwear products may contain phthalates.

Varying degrees of volatile organic compounds

In addition, the test also tested the samples for volatile organic compounds. At present, there is no requirement for this item in footwear-related standards, but because most volatile organic compounds have an uncomfortable special odor and may contain substances harmful to the human body, this test also includes them as a test item. The results showed that 36 samples of children's shoes were detected to varying degrees of volatile organic compounds.

According to the Guangzhou Municipal Council, judging from the test results, in terms of chemical safety performance, most of the samples of children's shoes can meet the requirements of relevant industry standards, but in terms of chemical safety items other than those specified in relevant standards, a considerable number of samples still have certain health risks.

Under normal circumstances, volatile substances in footwear products will be quickly emitted in open space. Therefore, the Guangzhou Consumer Council recommends that consumers try to place footwear products in an open environment as much as possible to reduce the possible impact of volatile substances.

Color fastness, wear resistance test failed

This time, there was also a sample of 1 children's shoe that failed to pass the peel strength project test, And Ding-Dong children's shoes were on the list again, and 1 sample failed to pass this test. This project is to assess the quality of the upper and sole bonding, and the product with poor peeling strength is prone to degumming during the wearing process, which affects the service life.

The test results also show that the outsole wear resistance of 3 children's shoes, including (Doraemon) children's shoes, is lower than the minimum requirements of the current product standard, which is a poor performance, which is to assess the anti-wear ability of the sole.

In addition, there are 3 children's shoe samples that fail to lining and inner pad friction color fastness, poor color fastness of textile or leather products, in the process of use, dyes are easy to fall off and fade, affecting the appearance, and the fall off dye molecules or heavy metal ions may be absorbed by the human body through the skin and endanger health. Three samples, including ZARA boys' shoes and Babou bean BOBDOG men's/women's/women's breathable net children's shoes, failed the test.

According to the Guangzhou Consumer Council, from the test results, in terms of use performance, there are also relatively large differences between different samples, and some samples cannot even meet the basic needs of the stated product standards. Consumers should purchase products cautiously according to the brand, word of mouth and actual status of the products.

【Consumption Reminder】

It is recommended to improve and sound

More scientific evaluation criteria

The quality of children's shoes is very important for the growth of children, because children's feet are very delicate, is in the bone development period, once children's shoes contain harmful substances, or sole hardness, wear resistance and other physical and chemical methods are not qualified, not only affect the comfort of wearing, but also may affect the growth and development of children.

Although there are now national mandatory standards for children's shoes, the quality differences between different products are still large, and the indicators of mandatory standard assessment are limited, in addition to the requirements of beauty and comfort when purchasing children's shoes, it is more important to be conducive to children's growth and development.

The Guangzhou and Macao Consumer Councils recommend that enterprises continuously improve product performance, enhance the sense of responsibility, and eliminate false and exaggerated advertising according to the actual needs of children, and at the same time suggest that relevant units strengthen research and improve and improve the current more scientific evaluation standards for the safety performance and use performance of children's shoes.

These types of children's shoes are not recommended for consumers to buy

The heels are too high, the soles are too soft, and there are too many accessories

For the purchase of children's shoes, the Council recommends that consumers try to buy brands with good reputation in regular shopping malls or supermarkets. When choosing a product, first look at the packaging bag and the sole material of the upper, and try to choose a fully labeled product. Secondly, look at the shoe number and shoe type marked on the shoe and the packaging box, recognize whether it is in line with your own requirements, and try not to buy it if the label is vague or unmarked.

At the same time, consumers are reminded to pay attention to the following points when purchasing children's shoes:

First, children's shoes with high heels are not recommended for consumers to buy. Too high heel is easy to affect the balance of children, increase the burden on the spine, the appropriate heel height is about 6-15 mm. When purchasing, you should check whether the forefoot part of the shoe is too thin, whether the heel part is soft enough and rebounds in time. The forefoot area is too thin to make people feel weak and affect the comfort of walking. The heel part is the main part of the walking cushion energy absorption, which should be soft and hard moderate, and have good resilience.

Second, children's shoes with too many accessories are not recommended for consumers to buy. Accessories may contain small attachments that may appear sharply edged at the tip after it may appear or come off, scratching the human body. Some metal accessories are easily corroded. Therefore, the accessory installation of children's shoes must be firm, and the removable accessory should not be too small to prevent infants from swallowing after disassembly.

Third, children's shoes with soft soles are not recommended for consumers to buy. Especially in the heel part of the shoe and the front of the head should not be too soft, there should be a certain degree of hardness. The heel part of the shoe has enough hardness to protect the ankle joint during walking and prevent the ankle joint from being tilted by force and causing accidental feet and sprains. The front of the shoe also needs enough hardness to prevent bumps, kicks, and toes.

Fourth, the foam bottom of the shoe should buy regular manufacturers of products, because the foam bottom phthalate exceeds the risk of high. If the shoe has a clear pungent odor, it is likely to be related to the harmful chemicals remaining in the shoe, do not buy.

The Guangzhou Consumer Council also stated that the test results are only responsible for the test samples and do not represent the quality status of the same batch or other models of products.

The Council recommends the following steps for purchase:

At a glance, observe the surface form of the product, the color, thickness, pattern, and hair thickness are consistent; there is no cracking slurry, cracked surface, and the finishing layer falls off. There is no broken seam between the upper suture and the upper suture, the upper suture is neat, and the adhesive joint of the upper is flat without grooves, no false seams and no glue. The material in the shoe should be delicate to the touch and uniform in color.

Touch the shoe cavity with your hand to check whether there is a flat and prickly phenomenon; press the inside of the shoe. Check that the forefoot of the shoe is too thin, and the heel is soft enough and rebounds in time. The forefoot area is too thin to make people feel weak and affect the comfort of walking. The heel part is the main part of the walking cushion energy absorption, which should be soft and hard, and be 2-3 cm high in order to have good resilience.

Fold three, fold the sole in half. The place where it bends when folding in half should be where it is bent when wearing. Check the stiffness when bending, too soft or too hard is not conducive to wearing comfort. At the same time, when bending, pay attention to whether there are abnormal phenomena such as helping the bottom to open the glue when bending.

Pinch four times, pinch the heel and front of the shoe. The heel and front of the bag head should not be too soft, and there should be a certain hardness. The heel part of the shoe has enough hardness to protect the ankle joint during walking, preventing the ankle joint from being tilted by force and causing accidental loose feet and sprains. The front of the shoe also needs enough hardness to prevent bumps, kicks, and toes.

Five twists, two hands on each other to twist the shoes. If the shoe is too easy to deform, it means that the shoe is too soft and the stability is poor. Too soft shoes can not provide effective support for the foot, easy to cause foot sprains; Too hard will affect the comfort of wearing, walking is easy to fatigue.

Six sniffs, smell the shoes or not. The pungent smell is likely to be related to the harmful chemicals left in the shoe, if there is a clear pungent smell, do not buy.

Seven try, when trying on, as far as possible left and right feet at the same time, take a few steps, feel the comfort of wearing, leave at least one centimeter before the toes, try to choose soft and breathable shoes with a soft and breathable surface, and try to avoid plastic and other non-breathable materials. It is best to choose a fixing method such as a sticky buckle, because the laces are not only easy to loosen, but also increase the risk of tripping.
