When the 9-pound antler cup coral passed the customs clearance, Hangzhou Customs: Endangered species are not allowed to carry and mail in and out of the country

On July 16, the Shanghai Wildlife Identification Center identified two coral specimens previously seized by Hangzhou Customs in the airport channel as endangered species. One of the antler cup corals is the heaviest single antler cup coral seized by Hangzhou Customs at the hangzhou airport port.

The above-mentioned coral specimen was seized by the customs officer of Xiaoshan Airport under Hangzhou Customs on May 31 in the luggage of a passenger entering Singapore. Two endangered coral specimens, one pugobin coral specimen weighing 0.278 kg and one antler cup coral specimen weighing 4.455 kg.

According to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Administration of Import and Export of Endangered Wild Fauna and Flora, Pugobin corals and staghorn cup corals are endangered species and are not allowed to be carried or mailed into or out of the country without the relevant certificate issued by the state endangered species. Customs seized the above items in accordance with the law and launched further investigations.
