Li Huajun was born in 1963 in Muping, Shandong. There are few young players in China who have excellent speed, technology and consciousness. Starting from Dalian Amateur Sports School, he was selected for the Chinese secondary school team in 1980 and participated in the Asian Secondary School Football Championship. He was then selected for the national youth team, participated in the 1982 Asian Youth Football Championship, the 1983 World Youth Football Championship, and was named the best player with Van Basten, Romario, Bebeto and others after the game, and was named the six stars of hope in world football.
