Recently, J.J. Redick, a white shooter from Duke University, announced the end of a 15-year NBA career. Redick played professionally for the Magic, Bucks, Clippers, 76ers, Pelicans and Mavericks. He averaged 25.5 minutes in his career and could get 12.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Redick shot a total of 1,950 three-pointers, ranking 15th in NBA history.
However, what impressed Chinese most about Redick was his alleged use of abusive chinese words on the occasion of the traditional Chinese New Year on February 18, 2018. At that time, a group of NBA players recorded videos to send blessings to Chinese fans, in which Redick used words with racial connotations to call Chinese, all of the NBA chink fans of China, causing great controversy. Redick has since apologized.
