This reporter learned from the provincial headquarters for the safety and precautionary work of Asian elephants moving north and south from Yunnan to the north that from 17:00 on July 18 to 17:00 on July 19, the elephant herds generally moved 2.3 kilometers to the north and west, and they were still active in the woodland near Longwu Town in Shiping County. The elephant herd is within the monitoring range, and the human elephant is safe.

The on-site command is operating normally. On the same day, a total of 171 emergency disposal personnel and police forces were put in, 65 muck trucks, 9 excavators, 85 emergency vehicles, and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles were dispatched, 3120 people from 796 households were evacuated, 4.25 tons of plantains were dropped, and 237 vehicles and 762 people were persuaded to return.
