At about 8:20 a.m. on October 21, a gas explosion accident occurred at the intersection of South Seventh Road, Taiyuan Street, Heping District, Shenyang City. According to the information released earlier by the Propaganda Department of the Heping District Cpc Committee, the location of the explosion was No. 222, Taiyuan South Street, and the detonation caused damage to the nearby building, and a bus at the scene was affected.
According to the official microblog of Liaoning Fire Department, after the explosion, the local fire department immediately dispatched 25 fire trucks and 110 fire commanders and fighters to the scene. After investigation, it was preliminarily determined that the scene was an explosion in a commercial and residential building.

According to the video at the scene of the explosion, the explosion triggered a huge mushroom cloud, and smoke billowed from the scene. There was a mess near the blast site, with one bus and some private cars damaged, and some buildings exposed and badly damaged. A citizen who works in the street adjacent to the blast site said she heard a loud noise when the explosion occurred, and the ground shook like an earthquake.

According to another Xinhua news agency reporter from the State Grid Shenyang Power Supply Company, the explosion caused damage to the power grid line, and more than 15,000 nearby residents lost power.
CCTV News quoted the Shenyang gas department as saying that on the evening of the 20th, the municipal gas pipeline near the explosion point was repaired, and the hotel where the accident occurred was in a state of gas suspension, and the gas supply was restored on the morning of the 21st.
