In order to encourage tea industry operators to attach importance to tea quality evaluation, accelerate the selection of high-skilled talents of tea appraisers, and promote the popularization and improvement of the vocational skills training and appraisal work of tea appraisers, on October 29, the 2021 Guangxi Tea Appraiser Vocational Skills Competition was held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, and 14 teacher groups and 15 staff groups from all over Guangxi competed on the same stage and showed their skills.

Tea appraisers are personnel who use their senses to evaluate the quality and grade of tea color, aroma, taste and shape, and are widely active in tea production, processing, circulation, trade and other fields, and are indispensable skilled talents for the development of the tea industry, and are also important human resources for promoting the high-quality development of the tea industry.
Holding this tea industry vocational skills competition is not only a comprehensive display of the talent style of the tea industry in the new era of Guangxi, but also a test of the skill level of the staff in the tea industry in Guangxi, which will greatly enhance the professional skill level of the tea appraisers in Guangxi.
In this competition, a large number of skilled talents who serve the high-quality development of the tea industry have been attracted to participate. After registration and screening, 60 tea artists in the district passed the theoretical assessment, 50 contestants advanced to participate in the practical competition, through the competition of prescribed tea art, tea discernment, self-created tea art and other modules, the final teacher group 3 people won the gold award, 5 won the silver award, 7 won the bronze award, the staff group 3 won the gold award, 5 people silver award, 8 people won the bronze award.
Guangxi Lingyun Tea Mountain
Guangxi is an important tea-producing area in China. The area of tea plantations increased from 1.033 million mu in 2015 to 1.3692 million mu in 2020, and tea production increased from 63,600 tons to 88,300 tons, an increase of 32.54% and 38.84% respectively. Tea production entered the top 10 in the country.
Guangxi tea has distinct characteristics
From the perspective of categories, six types of teas such as black, red and green and jasmine tea and jasmine tea are complete, of which Liupao tea accounts for 36.9% of the tea output of the whole region, which is the "unique taste" in the national tea pattern. Hengzhou Lihua tea accounts for 60% of the world and more than 80% of the country.
From the perspective of the listing period, "Sanjiang Early Spring Tea" is known as the first tea in Early Spring in China, and it is a new tea that can be drunk during the Spring Festival. From a functional point of view, Guangxi is the province with the largest natural selenium-rich area in the country, and selenium-rich tea accounts for a high proportion. In particular, Academician Liu Zhonghua's team discovered through scientific research that Liupao tea has a unique health function that is different from other teas.
The first tea in early spring in China
From the perspective of variety resources, Guangxi currently collects and preserves more than 800 varieties (strains) of various tea trees. It has successively selected and bred 6 national fine seeds such as "Guilu No. 1". Jinxiu, Youjiang, Longsheng, Guiping County (city, district) have contiguous tens of thousands of wild ancient tree tea.
From a cultural point of view, the "Tea Boat Ancient Road" formed in Guangxi's history has brought Chinese tea culture overseas and has been highly praised by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
The economic contribution of Guangxi's tea industry is outstanding
First, the output value is large, and the comprehensive output value of the tea industry in the whole region is 26 billion yuan.
Second, the performance of poverty alleviation is good. More than 80% of the tea gardens in our region are distributed in remote mountainous areas, and more than 200,000 farmers grow tea. For example, the tea industry in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County has provided a guarantee for the 36 poverty-stricken villages in the county to be listed and 36,709 people who have been lifted out of poverty to get rid of poverty steadily. In 2020, the output value of Sanjiang tea accounted for 50.1% of the local agricultural output value.
Third, the efficiency of export foreign exchange earning is high. Guangxi's tea exports in 2020 were 1121.09 tons, an increase of 4.85% year-on-year: the total export value was 28.7294 million US dollars, an increase of 30.2% year-on-year; The average export price of tea is 20.38 US dollars / kg, which is more than 3 times the average price of tea exports in the country.
Guangxi Liupao Tea, Longji Tea, Hengxian Jasmine Tea, Lingyun Pekoe Tea and other landmark teas participated in the exhibition.
At present, Guangxi tea has obtained 4 green food certification certificates within the validity period of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, 36 organic tea certification certificates, and on December 25, 2020, "Guangxi Liupao Tea" has obtained the national agricultural product geographical indication certification, and the geographical indication certificate of tea in the whole region has reached 18. Among them, Liupao Tea was rated as one of the three most developing brands of Chinese tea in 2021 by the research group of "China Tea Regional Public Brand Value Assessment".
