Peking Opera veteran. His original name was Guan Ying (贯瑛), the character Yu Ming (昱明), and his nickname was Dayuan (大元). Originally from Shunyi, a suburb of Beijing, he was born in Beijing. Birthday: August 22, 1897, Guangxu 23rd year (Ding Unitary) July 25th; Death: 1969, the year of the lunar calendar.
At the age of 7, he learned literature and martial arts from the famous teacher Jia Lichuan, and was a brother with Xu Yintang, Liu Chunxi, Li Xinfu, Zhang Rongkui, Gao Qingkui, Liu Yanfang, etc. At that time, there was a comment that "the old student sang on the stage was Tan Xinpei, and the offstage teacher was Jia Lichuan". At the age of 7, he debuted on stage to sing "Wen Zhaoguan" in Yucheng class, and at the age of 9, he recorded "Golden Stage" and "Downtown" in THE EMI Company. After Jia Lichuan's death, he continued to learn Tan school drama from Li Chuan's nephew Jia Honglin, who was Dayuan's uncle, who had studied Tan Pai art and cared for Dayuan very much, and poured out the plays he knew, and Dayuan was closely known for him, and the old students' plays he learned were all Ofthan School. Later, he asked Wu Liankui, Yao Zenglu, Liu Jingran and other famous artists about their art. In the early years of the Republic of China, he became acquainted with Wang Yaoqing and Yu Shuyan, and some plays were instructed by them. Guan Dayuan once accompanied Wang Yaoqing's disciples to perform, and Wang processed Tan Pai opera singing for it; Yu Shuyan said "Other Mothers Mess Arrows" and "Search for Orphans"; and Guan also explained to Shu Yan the main points of "Tianlei Bao", "Beating the Nephew on the Grave", "Zhan Taiping" and other plays taught by Jia Honglin.
He trained a number of famous actors for the country, such as Sun Yue, Wang Rongzeng, Li Mingyan, Wei Keyu, Yang Yunqing, Kong Yan, Jin Tong, Li Chuncheng, Xu Zhengtai, Chen Zengkun and so on.
Ma Lianliang took Liang Yiming as an apprentice and held a ceremony to teach and worship, and the participants included Zhang Menggeng, Ma Fulu, Li Hongchun, Guan Dayuan, Yu Lianquan, Zeng Ping, Mei Lanfang, Zhang Zhonghan, Hou Xirui, Li Guichun, Xiao Changhua, Hao Shouchen, Ma Yanxiang, Ma Shaobo, Li Duokui, Xu Lanyuan, Qian Baosen, Ru Fuhua, Yu Yongli, Zhou Yirui, Yan Shaopeng, Ma Chongren, Li Muliang, Wei Jingsheng, Xue Yanqin, Tan Fuying, Zhang Junqiu, Ye Shengzhang, Liu Lianrong, Yuan Shihai, Qiu Shengrong, Li Jinchi, and Li Shaochun.
