The vegetables and fruits of Sun Xue's mud make people feel that life is really beautiful

Sun Xueni (1889-1965), a famous Chinese painter enjoyed a high reputation in the Republic of China, was a native of Songjiang, Jiangsu (now part of Shanghai). At the age of sixteen, he specialized in painting all his life, working on landscapes and flowers, especially good at scales, vegetables and fruits, plum blossoms, etc., and his vegetables and fruits were light and elegant, quite charming.

The above painting "Joyful People's Home" is Mr. Sun Xueni's most well-known vegetable and fruit painting. The picture is composed of winter melon, cowpea, tomato, green pepper and other products, or placed in a farmer's bamboo basket, or placed on the open space, the melon and fruit breath is fresh and elegant, and the brushwork is meticulous and free.

This seemingly plain and naïve peasant theme painting actually contains the author's ingenuity. Even today, 60 years later, I still feel happy!
