Before this "encirclement and suppression," he had just been transferred to Zhang Huizhan's 18th Division as a lieutenant operator.
There were two main reasons why Wu Renjian was willing to join the ranks of the Red Army; the first was that he had witnessed too many corrupt phenomena within the Kuomintang and was disappointed in the Kuomintang troops; second, he had long understood that the Red Army was a team of hardships, simplicity, and single-mindedness for the people. Therefore, when he was captured, Wu Renjian had already decided to join the Red Army. In order to avoid persecution by Kuomintang agents, Wu Renjian also gave himself a new name: Wang Yi.

In fact, since joining the ranks of the Red Army, Wang Yi has always had a wish, that is, to join the Communist Party of China one day, but Wang Yi is also very clear that he comes from the Kuomintang ranks and may never be able to become a member of the Communist Party of China, but one day in 1934, Wang Yi's application to join the Party was suddenly approved, and on this day, Wang Yi made up his mind: He must follow the Communist Party to the end.
