Xin'an Evening News, Anhui Net, and Dawan News reporters combed and learned that on the morning of September 30, 2020, the Baohe Court publicly pronounced a verdict in the case of He Wei and 19 other evil forces criminal group in the first instance.
After trial, the Baohe court ascertained that, in order to obtain illegal benefits, a criminal group of evil forces, with defendant He Wei as the ringleader and defendants Zhong Longfei, Yan Yibo, and others as members, systematically carried out illegal and criminal activities such as fraud and extortion through the method of "routine loans." This evil force criminal group has carried out more than 300 illegal and criminal activities, obtained huge economic benefits, and in its criminal activities, it has used means such as forcibly towing trucks, threatening victims by selling cars, and harassing customers' relatives and friends, so that the victims feel panicked, uneasy, and deeply affected. This criminal group has done evil deeds and oppressed the masses, seriously undermined the economic, social and living order, and caused a relatively bad social impact.
The Baohe Court sentenced defendant He Wei to 17 years' imprisonment and a fine of RMB250,000 for fraud and extortion in the first instance, and sentenced the other 18 defendants to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from 15 years to 1 year and 6 months and fined for the crime of fraud and extortion.
