The normal storage level of the reservoir is 190.00 meters, the total reservoir capacity is 43.42 million cubic meters, the regulated storage capacity is 36.37 million cubic meters, the installed capacity of the supporting energy consumption power station is 2×3000 kilowatts, the average annual power generation for many years is 17.73 million kWh, and the main buildings are barrages, spillways, water transmission systems, ecological water release pipes and power plant buildings, etc., with a planned total investment of 1.513 billion yuan。

Subsequently, the research team also came to the Meili Reservoir to inspect the progress of the construction of the Luxi to Chihu Water Diversion Project and the pilot section of the JiulongJiang "South Diversion" Project, understand the difficulties and problems encountered in the promotion of the project, and put forward guidance and suggestions on the safety hazards after the project was started.

Zhangzhou City, Jiulong River water transfer project in the southeast coastal area of Jiulong River is a recent key water resources allocation project in Zhangzhou City, the project is planned to draw water from the West Stream of Jiulong River in the near future, and the design of water diversion is 360,000 m³/d; the long-term water intake source is adjusted to the North Creek of the Jiulong River, and the design diversion amount is 1 million m³/d, after completion, it will meet the living and industrial water needs of Zhangpu Chihu Industrial Zone, Qianting and Guleigang Economic Development Zone.
