According to the Fuzhou News Network, last week, the temperature in Fuzhou plummeted, and Ms. Zhang, who opened a restaurant, had red, swollen, sore, sore hands, and was powerless, and she couldn't do anything. After going to the hospital, I learned that it was carpal tunnel syndrome that had occurred.
Doctors say carpal tunnel syndrome is more common in middle-aged women. Ms. Zhang's hands are ill, in addition to occupational factors, but also related to cold stimulation.
Ms. Zhang is in her 40s and runs a small restaurant. Last week, her hands were suddenly numb, and she had difficulty holding things, unable to twist a towel, button or touch water. She used to wash hundreds of dishes a day, and she couldn't wash them in those days. When riding an electric car, the hands are also numb and crispy, and the handlebars are not tight. At night, the hands were more numb, and I was awakened several times by pain.
After receiving the diagnosis, Huang Hongqi, deputy chief physician of the Department of Neurology of Fujian Provincial Government Hospital, diagnosed Ms. Zhang with carpal tunnel syndrome, told her not to wash dishes, let her hands rest well, and gave medication and local physiotherapy at the same time.
After more than a week of treatment and rest, Ms. Zhang's numbness symptoms in her hands have greatly improved.
Huang Hongqi introduced that carpal tunnel syndrome, also known as "mouse hand", groups of people who use computers or play mobile phones without moderation are prone to disease. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a series of symptoms of nerve damage caused by narrowing of the carpal tunnel or increased contents of the median nerve of the wrist, most common in women aged 30 to 60 years.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is characterized by numbness, pain, or weakness in the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and part of the ring finger, and worsening symptoms at night. Huang Hongqi introduced that carpal tunnel syndrome has occupational factors, carpenters, kitchen workers, gardeners, typists and other groups of people, due to long-term excessive use of the wrist, it is more likely to cause damage to the median nerve and get sick. Ms. Zhang is induced because of long-term dishwashing, coupled with cold stimulation. In addition, menopausal women are also prone to disease due to changes in hormone levels in the body; obesity, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis are all triggers.
Huang Hongqi suggested that high-risk groups with this disease should try to avoid repeated bending and stretching of their wrists, and rest appropriately in repeated activities. People with related underlying diseases should be actively treated to reduce the triggers. (Fuzhou Evening News reporter Zhu Danhua correspondent Chen Yujuan)
