BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The iconic sculpture "Still Water" by the famous British artist Nick Fidian Green has ushered in a new crystal version after the bronze and lead versions and marble versions. This new edition is from LALIQUE, known as the "Sculptor of Light".

As the most famous contemporary sculptor of a combination of Romanticism and Classicism, his large bronze horse is the highlight of the British landscape, and it is also found in Australia, the United States and other countries, as well as in Hong Kong.

Nick Fidian Green recalls that at the age of 20 he was fascinated by a horse's head sculpture called Selene (Selene, the moon goddess). This is a 2,500-year-old marble treasure from the Temple of Parthenon in Greece. "I was completely overwhelmed by the beauty, harmony, balance and proportion of this Dali horsehead stone sculpture. Some people describe it as a work of genius. Since then, I have been constantly drawing inspiration from it, as it is a constant reminder of the highest principles of sculpture. ”

He collaborated with LALIQUE France, founded in 1921 as France's representative "Living Cultural Heritage (EPV)" company, known as the "Sculptor of Light" for its unique expertise and a clever contrasting style that combines satin and translucency.

The production process is not easy, first the artist makes a horse head mold, and then the Laili craftsmen use their expertise to make a plaster mold. To create such a sculpture that matches the size of the body, the process of creating a mold is quite complicated. Among them, the delicately outlined ears on the horse's head are one of the challenges. To make this 55 cm tall oversized piece, about 20 kg of raw material needs to be hot-pressed into the shape of a mold, while avoiding any imperfections.

"The craftsmen are meticulous in their attention to detail, and they have a wealth of experience in the effects of the surface treatment of dewaxed works, which is the key to the success of interpreting my work." Nick Fidian Green is clearly very happy with the collaboration, "Black is so strong and shocking, amber is attractive, and translucency is full of pure charm." My Still Water has become a beloved horse sculpture, including bronze and lead versions, as well as marble versions. This collaboration proves that this iconic sculpture can also be interpreted in a completely new medium. ”

In fact, for Les Lis, France, nature has always been an important source of inspiration. In addition to "Still Water", its recently launched "Goddess of the Earth - Gaia" series is a tribute to nature. The series is designed to resonate with everyone and allow people to respect, appreciate and marvel at the wonders of nature.

At the same time, Laili continues its brand essence and reinvents itself from a new perspective. Reinterpret the familiar "Happy Birds and Grapes" motif on the legendary Orient Express and embellish the classic vases and plates.

In 1928, Honé Léli designed the Decorative Inserts of Happy Birds and Grapes, originally made using the technique of pressing glass to decorate Cuban mahogany crafts on the legendary Orient Express. Today, Lai Li has reinterpreted this symbolic motif on vases and plates, designing in a contemporary silhouette to recreate the inheritance of its precious craftsmanship: the feathers of the bird are slender, well-rooted, and indulging in the rich and sweet fruit. The vines outline a unique rhythm that runs through the entire harmonious and balanced composition.

Lacquered wood craftsmanship is a traditional craft that has been passed down in the Asian region for more than a thousand years. Lai Li found outstanding craftsmen in Vietnam who inherited this traditional craft, and painted these wood carved boxes and tray frames with fifteen layers of lacquer. French craftsmen added satin sculptures to emphasize the embellishment of each piece. The lid is topped with a pair of "Tender Bird Meaning" crystal sculptures, symbolizing love and peace. (End)
