Qin Qiong(?) –638), courtesy name Shubao, was a native of Licheng, Qizhou (present-day Licheng District, Jinan, Shandong). Initially, he served under the Sui Dynasty generals Lai Hu'er, Zhang Sutuo, and Pei Renji.

When Qin Qiong was serving under the account of Lai Hu'er, his mother died, and Lai Hu'er sent someone to mourn, which aroused the curiosity of the soldiers, so they asked Lai Hu'er: "There are often funerals in the army, why does the general only mourn Qin Shubao's family?"

Unexpectedly, Lai Hu'er said to the crowd, "Uncle Qin is brave and fierce, and he has ambition and integrity, and he will take great wealth in the near future, so how can I treat him as a humble person?"

I have to say that Lai Hu'er is not only a fierce warrior, but also a more powerful sight to see people.

In December of the tenth year of the Sui Dynasty, Lu Mingyue, the leader of the Zhuo Commandery rebels, led an army of 100,000 to attack Zhu'a. Zhang Sutuo led more than 10,000 people to the conquest, including Qin Qiong and Luo Shixin.
