In January 1959, Zhang Wei was transferred to the secretary of the party branch of Shenxian Middle School, which began with the "Cultural Revolution". This period is the golden age of Shenxian Middle School, most of the students at that time have now become the backbone of all fronts, whenever they recall these days, their hearts are full of pride, teachers and students unanimously believe that Secretary Zhang Wei for the construction of Shenxian Middle School can be described as painstaking and outstanding contributions.
Zhang Wei attaches great importance to the ideological education of teachers and students, and has always regarded the cultivation of successors with all-round development of morality, intellect and body as the top priority and has been grasped very closely. The party branch of Shenzhen Central has been rated as a county-level model party branch many times, and the party members in Shenzhen have played an exemplary and leading role everywhere. Teachers and students listened to the news and the summary of the capital newspaper every morning, and everyone cared about national events. The Party, the Regiment, and the Young Pioneers were all well organized, and the students all actively demanded progress, regarded it as a great honor to be able to join the Regiment organization, and took this as their goal of struggle, and often reported their ideas to the Regiment organization in order to seek help from the organization. He often went deep into the class, encountered tendentious problems among the students, and sometimes sat in person and led the students to discuss in order to distinguish between right and wrong. At that time, Shenxian Middle School truly achieved "unity, tension, seriousness and liveliness", and the students learned from Lei Feng, Wang Jie, Jiao Yulu, helpful, and strived to do good things.
He attaches great importance to the combination of education and productive labor, and teachers and students often participate in social activities, the labor of nearby production teams and school construction. After each heavy snowfall, teachers and students use washbasins and beds to carry all the snow on campus to the farmland. When the school was building houses, students moved tiles from miles away. In the playground of the middle school, the students used the basin basin to build a tall target. At that time, the school was poor, and the washbasins of students were used when transporting soil, so that the washbasins of each student were potholes and peeling off the patent skin. Every semester, a class always arranges a week of labor classes, students are divided into groups, stand guard, participate in the school vegetable garden labor, get off the house, dig the toilet, and the students all grab dirty work and work hard. When the production team encountered urgent tasks such as drought resistance and insect control, the students of Shenxian Middle School went to support them.
During the three years of difficulty, he personally went to Baoding No. 2 Middle School and No. 5 Middle School to visit how people arranged their lives, and when he returned, he took the lead in going down to the dormitory, went to the student dinner group to eat with the students, solicited opinions, and tried to arrange his life better, thus stabilizing the mood of teachers and students. He attaches great importance to the physical health of his students, and the school's physical education classes and extracurricular recreational activities are carried out regularly and informatively. The school's basketball team, table tennis team, military band, and track and field team are all very active. The school holds spring and autumn athletic games every year, and often holds sports competitions between classes, inside and outside the school, and between teachers and students, and people value their teams to achieve good results. Athletes go to the region to participate in the Games, and he personally leads the team. There were no shot puts, so he ran to the machinery factory and asked someone to cast a few iron balls instead. Students do eye care exercises carefully every day between classes, when the nutrition of students can be said to be very poor, and the students' learning momentum is also very strong, but students wear few glasses.
He tried everything possible to improve the quality of teaching, and the incompetent teachers were resolutely discouraged. He led the teachers to Wuqiang Middle School to learn from the scriptures, and the 35-kilometer road cycled back and forth in a day. He often listens to lectures, turns to self-study every day, plays ball and eats with students, has no shelf at all, often it is long past the end of work time, and he is still busy. Under his leadership, teachers rarely went home, and female teachers milked their children out. Everyone is of one heart and one mind, the quality of teaching has improved rapidly, the college entrance examination promotion rate has reached more than 90%, ranking among the best in the province, and universities in nearby cities are willing to have students from Shenxian Middle School. He attaches great importance to the construction of the library and the extracurricular reading of students, and organizes people to buy old books in the countryside, so that the collection of books in the school library is very rich. Extracurricular activity groups have been set up in all disciplines to increase students' interest in learning.
He was sincere and modest, and was good at approaching the masses. The work style is democratic, the work methods are emphasized, and the wisdom of the masses can be concentrated. He suffered from rheumatic heart disease, arthritis, neurasthenia, and had several shocks, but he kept working with the disease. Never trust relationships to do things for yourself.
After the "Cultural Revolution" began in 1966, Zhang Wei was branded as a "faction in power that took the capitalist road", was monitored, criticized, and forced to work, and was only paid 12 yuan a month for living expenses, making life extremely difficult. In 1972, he resumed his work and served as the secretary of Chengguan Middle School. In 1977, he was appointed secretary of the party branch of Shenxian Wuqi University. After re-serving as the secretary of Shenxian Middle School in 1978, he rejuvenated his youth, grasped the allocation of leadership teams, and recruited talents from all over the world, so that the teaching work was soon on the right track. He never cared about fame and fortune, and every time he was evaluated as a model, the teachers listed him as the first place, but he always checked his name; when he engaged in salary promotion review, he always said: "I have a high salary and do my best to be a teacher." In early 1983, Zhang Wei left for retirement. He died of a heart attack on November 25, 1986, at the age of 68.
