For 6 consecutive years, the Agricultural Bureau of Longmatan District has insisted on carrying out artificial breeding and stocking activities. Part of the activity was put into the Tuojiang River, a rare fish national nature reserve in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and part of the activity was put into the Longxi River Provincial Aquatic Germplasm Resources Conservation Area.
In recent years, the illegal wharves of the Two Rivers in Changtuo, Luzhou have been completely banned, illegal sand and gravel yards have been completely shut down, cage fish farming in natural waters has been completely banned, the fishing ban period system has been strictly implemented, illegal electric explosions and poisonous fish and other ecological acts have been effectively curbed, and the aquatic ecology of the two rivers has been restored to a certain extent. Since the beginning of this year, the Agricultural Bureau of Longmatan District has carried out 126 fishery administrative law enforcement inspections, seized and destroyed more than 200 illegal nets, 7 illegal fishing vessels, and 7 sets of electric fish tools, arrested 14 people who fished illegally and electric fish, imposed a fine of 6,300 yuan, handed over to the Luzhou Branch of Changhang Public Security for criminal punishment, and confiscated 75 kilograms of released fish.
On December 5, the Longmatan District Procuratorate filed a public prosecution in accordance with the law, and the District People's Court sentenced 5 electric fish personnel in accordance with the law, with compensation for fishery resources ranging from 6,000-24,000 yuan and 4-10 months imprisonment, which caused great deterrence to illegal electric fish personnel.
Note that these species should not be stocked
Wan Jibing, deputy director of the Aquatic Fisheries and Fisheries Administration Station in Longmatan District, introduced that in accordance with the Provisions of the Ministry of Agriculture's "Regulations on the Management of Aquatic Biological Stocking and Stocking", it is forbidden to use exotic species, hybrids, genetically modified species and other aquatic biological species that do not meet ecological requirements for breeding and stocking. Therefore, the species that are stocked and released should be local native species, and alien species and other species that do not meet the ecological requirements are not suitable for stocking.
Common species in Luzhou that are not suitable for release are: red-eared painted turtle (Brazilian turtle), bullfrog, leather-bearded catfish, short-lipped giant fat carp (freshwater white pomfret), red-bellied sawfish (piranha), proto-crayfish (crayfish), large bottle snail (Fushou snail), lower mouth catfish (scavenger), tilapia, eel, mosquito-eating fish, crocodile turtle, Su's round-bellied fish (freshwater white shark), spotted totoaba (American redfish), spotted forktail (ditch catfish), spoon sturgeon (duckbill), hybrid sturgeon, sunfish, etc.
The fishery administration department reminds that it is hoped that the general public will avoid releasing the above species, otherwise doing bad things with good intentions will pose a great threat to the survival of local species.
