Wu Junsheng was the eldest brother of the warlord Zhang Zuolin, whose ancestral home was Licheng County, Jinan, Shandong, and had been farming for generations. In the last year of Xianfeng, Shandong's years were not good, and due to his livelihood, his ancestors broke into Guandong and settled in Xinglonggou Village in Changtu Province, Fengtian Province (present-day Changtu County, Liaoning Province). Wu Junsheng was born in Changtu.

In the sixth year of Guangxu (1880), the seventeen-year-old Wu Junsheng joined the Liaoyuan bandit camp and began his extraordinary prelude to life. Later, he was promoted many times because of his merits.

In the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908), the officer to the Fengtianhou Road Patrol Battalion commander, alternate commander-in-chief, together with Zhang Zuolin, Feng Delin, and Ma Longtan, was known as the four major military figures in Fengtian.

In August of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Wu Junsheng repelled the Mongol army's attack in the three eastern provinces. In February of the following year, he was promoted to brigade commander of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade in Fengtian.

In February of the third year of the Republic of China (1914), he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general of the army; in March, he was also appointed as the town guard envoy of Taoliao (present-day Taonan City).

In the sixth year of the Republic of China (1917), Feng Delin, commander of the 28th Division, rebelled against Zhang Zuolin, and Wu Junsheng supported Zhang Zuolin and defeated him. Because of this merit, Zhang Zuolin appointed him commander of the Twenty-ninth Division.

In March of the Tenth Year of the Republic of China (1921), Wu Junsheng was appointed as the Governor of The Black Dragon River and the Governor of the Bureau, and was promoted to the rank of General of the Army.

In November of the fourteenth year of the Republic of China (1925), the Fengjun general Guo Songling launched a mutiny in Luanzhou, Zhang Zuolin appointed Wu Junsheng as the commander-in-chief of the rebel army, and Wu led the crowd to defeat Guo Devilzi!

In May of the seventeenth year of the Republic of China (1928), the Feng army was defeated by the Northern Expeditionary Army, and Zhang Zuolin decided to withdraw to Guanwai. On June 3, Zhang Zuolin left Beijing by special car, and Wu Junsheng heard the news and greeted him from afar to Shanhaiguan, and the two returned to Feng in the same carriage. In the early morning of the 4th, marching to the vicinity of Huanggutun, together with Zhang Zuolin, was bombed by the Japanese Kwantung Army, Wu Junsheng was pierced into the brain by the railway road, and died immediately, at the age of 65. Zhang Zuolin was seriously injured and died that night.

After Wu Junsheng's death, his body was first sent in Fengtian Cuo, and in August of the eighteenth year of the Republic of China (1929), he was buried in Wulonggang, Xinglonggou, Changtu County.

Wu Junsheng is short in stature, rude, seemingly mediocre, and cunning in heart. When he was young, his mouth was frostbitten, so that his speech was slurred, and he often stumbled, and was jokingly called "Wu Big Tongue".

Wu Junsheng used his power to hunt more than 270,000 yuan of land and many properties in Zhengjiatun, Tongliao, Taonan, Qiqihar and other places, and rented no less than 10,000 houses.
