On July 23, Beijing time, the Tokyo Olympic Games, which had been postponed for one year, were grandly opened at the new National Stadium. The opening ceremony was held with a theatrical performance, and the flag raising, athletes' admission, oath taking and other links were held, and finally Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka lit the sacred flame.
At the athletes' entrance ceremony, athletes from various countries and regions attended in full costume, a flag bearer of men and women led the delegation to enter, and Olympic champions Zhu Ting and Zhao Shuai led the Chinese Olympic delegation to appear in the 110th place.
However, when the Uzbek delegation entered, there was an unexpected scene - the female standard-bearer was not the 46-year-old gymnastics legend Chusovkina. On July 17, the Uzbekistan Olympic Committee announced that Chusovkina and boxer Popo Usmun Baturov would serve as Olympic standard-bearers, much to the excitement of Chusovykina's fans.

Chusovkina then said on social media: "Friends!! At my last Olympic Games, Baturov and I will be the flag bearers of the opening ceremony together! I'm honored! Thanks for trust! She used multiple exclamation points to express her excitement.
But at the opening ceremony, Chusovkina did not appear.
One detail can be seen that Chusovkina was temporarily replaced - during the live broadcast, when the CCTV commentator introduced the other delegations to enter, they all gave a basic introduction to the names of the male and female flag bearers and the sports. Only in the Uzbekistan delegation, the narrator only mentioned the information of the male flag bearer, which should be because the flag bearer was temporarily replaced, and the commentator did not have information about the female flag bearer.
Eventually, taekwondo athlete TursunKulova served as Uzbekistan's female standard-bearer.
It is reported that when she learned that her standard-bearer identity had been replaced, Chusovkina was very angry, she said in an interview: "No one explained to me the reason for the replacement, just informed me that I did not have to go!" My enthusiasm for the competition was very discouraged and stifled. We're all human beings, and they shouldn't do that! ”
At present, the Uzbek delegation did not give any explanation.
Chusovkina's deeds are well known to the Chinese people, and many students have written her story into their essays. Born in 1975, Chusovkina made her olympic debut for the CIS at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, winning the gold medal for the women's gymnastics team. After the dissolution of the CIS, Chusovkina represented Uzbekistan.
In 2002, Chusovkina's son was diagnosed with leukemia. She briefly became a German citizen to treat her child and won a silver medal for the German team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In 2014, Chusovkina's son, Whose leukemia had recovered, she continued to compete and changed back to Uzbekistan nationality, reaching the vault final at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Now, Chusovkina's son is 22 years old, older than most of her opponents, and Chu's mother is still competing in the Olympics! The Tokyo Olympics was her eighth and last olympic participation.
