On November 27, 2020, the seminar on "New Generation Information Technology and Emergency Management" and the unveiling ceremony of the School of Emergency Management of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications were held at the Student Activity Center of Xitucheng Campus of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
Tian Xuejun, Vice Minister of Education, Wu Xin, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Xie Qingshun, Deputy Director of the Beijing Emergency Management Bureau, Xu Baodong, Secretary of the Party Committee of China Fire and Rescue College, He Youguo, President of the Information Research Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Zou Bo, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of China Machinery Import and Export (Group) Co., Ltd., and all the leaders of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications attended the ceremony. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Vice Minister Tian Xuejun congratulated the establishment of the School of Emergency Management of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Tian Xuejun pointed out that emergency management is an important part of the modernization of the national governance system and governance capabilities, and the party and the state have always attached great importance to emergency management. Tian Xuejun said that the establishment of the Beiyou Emergency Management College is a vivid practice of the education system to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech and the central decision-making and deployment, and is a pragmatic action of Beiyou to adhere to serving the national strategy and local economic and social development.
Chief engineer Wu Xin said that in recent years, the Ministry of Emergency Management has focused on improving institutional mechanisms and strengthening education, science and technology, and talent work. Wu Xin pointed out that the establishment of the School of Emergency Management of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications is a specific action of the school to strengthen the construction of emergency management disciplines and cultivate emergency management talents. Deputy Director Xie Qingshun pointed out that the new generation of information technology plays an important role in improving the level of social governance, preventing and resolving major risks, and enhancing the emergency management capacity to respond to public emergencies, and is an important support for the modernization of the national governance system and governance capabilities. Xie Qingshun expressed the hope that Beiyou will rely on the advantages of disciplines and professions to promote the in-depth intersection of disciplines in the construction of emergency management colleges and emergency management disciplines, and walk out of the characteristic development path of information technology and public management.
Secretary Wu Jianwei pointed out in the presidency that in order to meet the needs of a new round of global scientific and technological revolution industrial transformation and educational reform and development, with the full affirmation and support of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Emergency Management, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications has given full play to the advantages of discipline, scientific research and talent training to establish the School of Emergency Management, and undertake the emergency safety wisdom learning workshop (2020) project. After the unveiling ceremony, the seminar on "New Generation Information Technology and Emergency Management" was successfully held, and experts from Tsinghua University, China Emergency Management Society, party school of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and other experts made keynote speeches, deeply analyzed the research background and needs of emergency communication, current trends and technical thinking, and shared around the new application of emergency communication in mountainous and dense forest areas.
