The third child has been released, and the number of reproductive consultations has increased? Senior fertility experts appeal: give birth to a baby early

At the end of May this year, the policy of liberalizing the three-child birth was officially introduced, which is another birth incentive policy after the "comprehensive two-child policy". The reporter learned that after the comprehensive two-child policy, the reproductive departments of various hospitals in Shenzhen have experienced a wave of "second-child consultation". So, after the liberalization of the three-child policy, has the amount of consultation in the reproductive department increased? With this question in mind, the reporter interviewed Deng Weifen, director of the Department of Reproductive Medicine at Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital. Deng Weifen told reporters that as far as the current outpatient volume data is concerned, after the introduction of the three-child policy, the outpatient volume of the Reproductive Medicine Department of Hang Seng Hospital has increased, but the magnitude is not large. "Compared with when the second child was released, everyone was still much calmer." Deng Weifen said.

Deep ploughing in the field of reproduction for more than 20 years to witness fertility changes

In 1997, Deng Weifen began to engage in assisted reproduction and was one of the earliest experts in IVF in China. "At that time, if anyone had done IVF, they would have hidden it." It is disgraceful to be known by friends and relatives. "Nowadays, people have long been accustomed to IVF.

In 2016, China ended the "one-child policy" that has been implemented for more than 20 years and fully liberalized the second child. The number of reproductive specialist outpatients in major hospitals in Shenzhen has increased significantly. Deng Weifen remembers that among the couples who came to her for consultation at that time, the post-70s were the main ones. "It can be clearly felt that the fertility willingness of the post-70s generation is very strong. And they also have an economic base. "Since the opening of the three-child policy, most of the couples who come to the Reproductive Medicine Department to consult the three-child child are couples who already have two boys or two girls who want to have children of different genders. In addition, there has been a marked increase in the number of public officials consulting.

Deng Weifen admitted that the post-70s generation has passed the best fertility period, and has more than enough and insufficient strength for the third child. The post-80s generation is mostly subject to economic ability and wants to be born but dare not. The concept of the post-90s generation itself is not the same, most of the post-90s are only children themselves, and there is not too strong willingness to have more children. "My son is a post-90s generation, he said that he can have two children at most, so I don't think about it." Deng Weifen believes that in order to change the concept of fertility of the younger generation, it is also necessary for the state to support more measures to encourage fertility. "Completely liberalizing fertility is definitely the big trend. There will still be many problems in an aging society that is not rich before it is old. And the average life expectancy of people is constantly getting longer, and if fertility is not encouraged, the burden on the country in the future will be very heavy. ”

Give birth to a baby early

Deng Weifen believes that if you want to have a second or third child, you must plan in advance. "What age to do anything, the matter of childbearing can not wait." Deng Weifen told reporters that after the release of the second child, the Department of Reproductive Medicine received many elderly women, but no matter which assisted reproductive means used by elderly women, the success rate was much lower than that of young couples. She introduced that the best childbearing age for women is 35 years old. "Pregnancies over the age of 35 are advanced mothers, and the miscarriage rate is multiplied. For women aged 36-40 who do IVF, the miscarriage rate is about 20% (less than 10% of those under 35 years of age). Over the age of 40, only 20% of fetuses can conceive and give birth to live births. "In addition, 80% of advanced women over the age of 40 are metabolic abnormalities, in addition to the difficulty of losing weight, the probability of gestational diabetes and hypertension is also greatly increased."

"Where conditions permit, early marriage and early childbearing are better choices for families and society. Especially in the case of the release of the third child, the matter of having a child should be planned as early as possible. Deng Weifen added.

Pregnancy management helps more couples realize their dreams

Most of the couples who come to the reproductive medicine department for help have already suffered from childbearing. Some are because they missed the optimal age for childbearing in their early careers, some because of a variety of difficult diseases, and some don't even know what the reason is. For every patient, Deng Chuanfen is willing to take the time to listen to their stories. Because of this, she is often ridiculed by colleagues: the consultation is too slow. "Sometimes when you talk to a patient, time flies by. One look, oops, a patient watched for an hour. Deng Weifen laughed.

After coming to Hang Seng Hospital, Deng Weifen established a pregnancy management system: she set up a special psychological consultation room for "accompanying chat" to conduct psychological counseling and management for patients; brought a characteristic traditional Chinese and Western medicine management model to enhance the patient's physique through meridian dredging, massage and other ways; ask nutrition experts to design recipes for patients and urge patients to eat well and move well.

"Repeated miscarriages and infertility are caused by many factors. After eliminating these factors, we start from the patient's psychology, movement, lifestyle and other aspects. "In the Department of Reproductive Medicine at Hang Seng Hospital, Deng Weifen also set up a weight management clinic to control the weight of patients together with the Department of Endocrinology." Obese people have abnormal metabolism, which will affect ovulation, and they are prone to miscarriage after pregnancy, and pregnant women are more likely to get gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. ”

Through scientific management, many patients who have almost despaired on the road to fertility have regained hope here in Deng Weifen. A 30-year-old woman, due to the lack of uterine clearance after pregnancy miscarriage, caused the adhesions of the uterine cavity, menstruation has been inaccurate. Over the years, the patient sought medical treatment everywhere, and the test tube was done several times without success. After finding Deng Weifen, Deng Weifen first gave her a comprehensive examination, and then took her to the psychological clinic and let the psychological counselor chat with her. The lady chatted with the counselor for a few hours, talking about the emotional place, and the tears did not stop. After the conversation, Deng Weifen obviously felt that the patient's emotions were released. "She's not anxious, she's not nervous." Shortly thereafter, Deng Weifen did egg retrieval and embryo transfer for her. The patient is currently pregnant.

"We still have half a year to live here, and I took her to climb the mountain and exercise and finally got pregnant." Many times, childbearing is a matter of family happiness, and as long as there is hope, we will try our best to do it. Deng Weifen said.
