Dr. Baha Ihnaini's family of three reunited in Wenzhou

"There is no language to describe how we feel right now... Being able to reunite after two years seemed impossible to us, but now, our dream has come true. A few days ago, Dr. Baha Ihnaini of Wenzhou-Kean University sent a letter of thanks to the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office.

Dr. Baha Ihnaini, a Jordanian, went to Wenzhou-Kean University alone in March to teach in the Department of Computer Science, while his wife and one-year-old child stayed in Palestine with Bate Dayan. Bette Dayan, located on the border between Israel and Palestine, was killed by thugs during years of fighting and poor security, and one of Dr. Baha Ihnaini's neighbors was killed by thugs during a war. Dr. Baha Ihnaini was worried about the safety of his wife and children day and night during his stay in Wenzhou, and his greatest wish was for his wife and children to live together.

After learning about Dr. Baha Ihnaini's situation, the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office effectively used China's relevant entry policies during the epidemic period to start the application process for his wife and children to warm up in a timely manner. Soon, with the strong support of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and our office in Palestine, Dr. Baha Ihnaini's wife and children successfully obtained visas to visit China, and after meticulous pre-departure preparations and necessary centralized isolation medical observation, in September this year, through the humanitarian "fast track", the family of three was finally reunited in Wenzhou.

"Relying on China's affectionate and warm consular visa policy, after more than 200 days and spanning more than 6,000 kilometers, Dr. Baha Ihnaini welcomed a gentle wife and lovely child in Wenzhou, a long-lost smile, a warm look, and full of happiness, infecting all those present." The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office said yesterday. (Thorpe/Municipal Foreign Affairs Office/Courtesy photo)
