The bookstore project was solicited from the whole society in 2018, and the creative design proposal submitted by Muda Architecture stood out from the 249 design manuscripts. The theme idea is: a book that falls from the sky to the earth, and the overall appearance is like a half-open book straight into the water. The curved slope roof shape echoes the tradition of residential houses in western Sichuan, and the "fish scale" texture of the building skin complements the sparkling water surface. At the same time, the idea of indoor underwater reading is also very eye-catching. The glass curtain wall on the lakeside side extends underwater, introducing soft water light to the sunken space in the room, setting off a quiet and beautiful reading atmosphere.
On the opening day, there was not only a theme forum of "From the Most Beautiful Bookstore in Xinglong Lake to the Cultural Expression of Park City", but also haima, a horticultural master trusted by 5 million flower lovers, the founder and manager of the "Heidi's Garden" brand, and the author of "Heidi's Garden", to share the ideal life in the garden; as well as novelist, painter and columnist Ximen Mei, independent writer and critic Xi Shan and young artist Zeng Pu came to share the colors and symbols of Chengdu under the shadow of Tianguang Books. At the same time, the salon exhibition area of the bookstore is exhibiting the works of architect and artist Yuyama Iikuan (Zeng Renzhen), adding a bit of interest to the view.
