In the second year of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Xiao Minghua was born into an ordinary family in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, and although his father opened a factory, the family's life was very poor. As the youngest child in the family, Xiao Minghua had 3 older brothers and an older sister, but what the whole family did not expect was that Xiao Minghua, the youngest in the family, became the earliest of all the children to die.
Xiao Minghua was smart and sensible since she was a child, and her family regarded her as a pearl in the palm of their hands, but in that era of frequent wars, no one could be alone, and with the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the original stable and happy life of Xiao Minghua's family was completely broken.

In that war-torn era, Xiao Minghua was fortunate to receive a very good education, and she studied in Henan Provincial Kaifeng Normal School, Chongqing Normal School, and Sichuan Baisha National Women's Normal College. After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Xiao Minghua went to Beiping Normal School for further study, where she met a person who changed her life's destiny: Professor Zhu Fangchun.
Zhu Fangchun's apparent identity is that of a professor at Peking Normal School, but in fact, his real identity is that of an underground member of the Communist Party of China. In the process of contact with Xiao Minghua, Zhu Fangchun found that the other party had very strong patriotic feelings. Therefore, Zhu Fangchun decided to pull Xiao Minghua into the ranks of our party. In the beginning, Zhu Fangchun always influenced Xiao Minghua by knocking on the side, often showing her some progressive books, and constantly transmitting to her the excellent ideas of our party.
Under Zhu Fangchun's temptation, Xiao Minghua's inner progressive thoughts began to sprout, and it was at this time that a sudden incident completely ignited Xiao Minghua's enthusiasm for revolution.
Since the outbreak of the Liberation War, the Kuomintang has relied on American aid, and countless American soldiers have been rampant on Chinese soil. On the night of December 24, 1946, a female student named Shen Chong, a Peking University student, was forcibly insulted by two American soldiers on the way to see a movie.
However, after the incident, in the face of the outrage of the crowd, the Kuomintang first claimed that the incident was purely a misunderstanding, and then tried to blame the communist party for the incident. In the end, the two violent US soldiers were acquitted, and in an instant, the anger of countless Chinese people was completely ignited, and large-scale demonstrations began to break out in Beiping, Shanghai, Tianjin and other places, and also shouted an extremely loud slogan: Only those who are cold and bloody are not angry! Serviles do not resist!

A series of shameless acts of the Kuomintang made Xiao Minghua deeply resentful, and with great resentment, Xiao Minghua made a request to Zhu Fangchun to join the underground party organization of the CPC.
Soon, Xiao Minghua's application was approved by the organization, but before officially participating in the underground work, Zhu Fangchun also reminded Xiao Minghua very formally: "Doing intelligence work is a very dangerous thing, it is not enough to have enthusiasm, but also have a strong will beyond ordinary people, I suggest that you carefully consider it before making a final decision!" ”
As soon as Zhu Fangchun's voice fell, Xiao Minghua stood up violently, and then said without hesitation: "I don't need any consideration, I have already made all preparations, please tell the organization that I am willing to dedicate everything I have to the party and to the revolutionary cause of the country and the people." ”
Zhu Fangchun sighed with emotion at Xiao Minghua's bold words, but he still reminded: "Participating in the revolution is not a joke, and there may be a danger to life at any time!" After listening to these words, Xiao Minghua said even more excitedly: "If a person can dedicate himself to the revolutionary cause of the people and the country, then he will be worthy of his heart, and he is even more worthy of the nurturing grace of the state and his parents." ”
From that day on, Xiao Minghua's revolutionary career officially began, and soon after, she received a secret task that could be said to be tailor-made for her.

In 1948, Xiao Minghua, who was about to graduate, suddenly received an invitation from across the strait, and his former mentor, Mr. Tai Jingnong, invited her to teach in Taiwan.

At that time, the liberation of the mainland was imminent, but the situation in Taiwan was not very clear, and if we wanted to liberate Taiwan, it was necessary for someone to pass on the most accurate information by the organization, and in order to carry out the revolutionary cause to the end, Xiao Minghua decided to go to Taiwan to open a new battlefield. Before leaving, Xiao Minghua also went home to say goodbye to his parents, but what Xiao Minghua did not expect was that this parting turned out to be a farewell.
When he first arrived in Taiwan, in this unfamiliar place, Xiao Minghua first obtained the status of a teacher at the Taiwan Normal College under the arrangement of Mr. Tai Jingnong, in order to better obtain intelligence and pass on intelligence, Xiao Minghua took the initiative to win the identity of the editor and reporter of the "Chinese Daily", but even so, Xiao Minghua was still cautious all day, afraid that she would accidentally expose her identity, and just when she was worried about how to cover her identity, the arrival of a person made Xiao Minghua completely relieved.
In the second month of Xiao Minghua's arrival in Taiwan, Zhu Fangchun was reported for organizing a student movement in Beijing and was wanted by Fu Zuoyi, and in order to avoid arrest, Zhu Fangchun also moved to Taiwan under the pseudonym YuFei. At first, the underground work of Xiao Minghua and Yu Fei went very smoothly, not only did they often secretly propagate Communist Party ideas in study classes and lectures, but also formed the "Taiwan New People's Youth Alliance", in the process, Xiao Minghua and Yu Fei passed on a lot of valuable information to the party organization, but with the start of the Battle of crossing the river, the situation in Taiwan became more and more tense, in order to use Taiwan as a place of rout, Chiang Kai-shek began to order people in Taiwan to conduct personnel clearance and speech control.
Due to the increased difficulty of collecting intelligence, coupled with the two jobs of the school and the newspaper, Xiao Minghua generally works during the day and sorts out intelligence at night, often sleeping only three or four hours a day. The comrades-in-arms around her often advised Xiao Minghua to pay attention to rest, but she always smiled and said: "I don't even care about my life, how can I be defeated by a poor life and heavy work?" ”

But as everyone knows, in fact, Xiao Minghua originally had a chance to escape, after all, she had already sensed the dangerous atmosphere two days ago.
Two days ago, it happened to be the birthday of Xiao Minghua's third brother, Xiao Mingzhu, and when the two were idling at home, two strangers suddenly appeared at the door, and they looked around Xiao Minghua's house on the pretext of inviting Yu Fei to give a speech.
In order to protect the safety of the third brother, on the occasion of parting, Xiao Minghua also specially instructed Xiao Mingzhu: "No matter who asks you, we are only brothers and sisters, and you don't know anything else!" ”
At that time, many people advised Xiao Minghua to go out and hide, but Xiao Minghua had already put her personal life and death aside, and the only thing she was worried about in her heart was organization and mission. In order to avoid the exposure of the CCP's underground party organization in Taiwan, Xiao Minghua decided to stay and observe the situation, but what she did not expect was that the Kuomintang agents came to the door again two days later.
It was the soldiers of the Kuomintang Security Command who came to arrest Xiao Minghua, and just as the enemy was preparing to move, Xiao Minghua said very calmly: "Wait a minute, let me put away my clothes!" While speaking, Xiao Minghua put in the qipao outside the back window, but what the arresting personnel did not know was that in fact, this was Xiao Minghua's last signal to Yu Fei: the bamboo pole was nothing, and the danger was not to enter.
After being arrested, Xiao Minghua was brutally tortured. A handyman in the detention center later described it this way: I saw her hands tied and hanging from the beams, and although her face was covered with blood and her arms were fractured in multiple places, she always had a contemptuous smile on her face.

In a historical document, it was recorded that the group of "demons" tortured Xiao Minghua: "The little devils" used electric chairs and tiger stools on her, and also made her sleepless for 5 days and 5 nights, and destroyed her mental and physical body.
The Kuomintang reactionaries tortured Xiao Minghua for only one purpose, that is, they hoped to get information about our Party from her mouth, but no matter what the enemy asked, Xiao Minghua's answer was: "I am a revolutionary who supports the Communist Party, supports the revolution, and supports the Communist Party in overthrowing the Kuomintang's reactionary rule." ”
November 8, 1950, was the day Xiao Minghua was about to be executed. The night before, Xiao Minghua had asked her fellow inmates to comb her hair once, using the comb her mother had given her when she left home. At dawn, looking at the whispered weeping of the prisoners, Xiao Minghua recited in awe: "Born as a master, death is also a ghost." Still thinking about Xiang Yu, I refuse to cross Jiangdong! ”
At 6:00 a.m., as the cell door slowly opened, Xiao Minghua walked out very calmly, and when the cell door was closed, Xiao Minghua said to the inmates inside: "Farewell, sisters, I hope you can get free as soon as possible!" ”

Soon, Xiao Minghua was taken to the Racecourse Town Execution Ground by five flowers, standing on the sand dunes, facing the enemy's guns, Xiao Minghua did not have the slightest fear. On September 11, 1982, Xiao Mingzhu tightly hugged Xiao Minghua's ashes and stepped on the plane back to China, in order to welcome the hero home, the central government specially sent someone to the airport to greet him. A few days later, Xiao Minghua's 32-year late memorial service was held in the Babaoshan Revolution Auditorium, and subsequently, Xiao Minghua's ashes were buried in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, which is the highest recognition of Xiao Minghua's revolutionary work by our party.
