In 1927, after the Kuomintang reactionaries rebelled against the revolution, new changes took place in the revolutionary situation. A large number of Communists and revolutionary cadres were brutally slaughtered by the Kuomintang reactionaries, and the Party was forced to go underground to struggle; after the "Sixth Congress" of the Party, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army continued to expand and establish a number of revolutionary base areas; and the Party organizations in the White Areas (areas ruled by the Kuomintang) were gradually restored and developed. But we are still in a state of being blocked and divided by the enemy.

As early as the end of the "Sixth National Congress," Comrade Zhou Enlai began to grasp this work, and he immediately interviewed Comrades Li Qiang and Zhang Shenchuan separately to talk to them, asking them to overcome all difficulties and learn radio communication technology to meet the needs of the development of the revolutionary situation.

In 1929, they finally built the first radio station designed and built by themselves. Using this radio station, we first started by copying the international news and weather forecasts of the Kuomintang radio station, and then contacted the amateur radio stations in various countries in the world to report, and the results proved that this self-made radio station was fully qualified and could be used. The successful construction of the party's first secret radio station and its communication work represents the pioneering significance of our party and our army in the telecommunications industry from scratch, from small to large, and in the history of the development of radio in the CPC.
