Tokyo Olympic diving champion Chen Taoxi, Olympic synchronized swimming runner-up and National Games champion Wu Yiwen, National Games 110m hurdles champion Xie Wenjun and other people came to the scene, and more than 300 people from the city's major hospitals such as brain tumor diagnosis and treatment experts, medical staff, researchers, brain tumor patients, and social benevolent people enthusiastically participated.
As an important part of the International Brain Tumor Alliance (ITBA) public welfare project "Traveling the World for Brain Tumor Patients", Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macao launched the 2021 Brain Trekking activity on the same day. At the opening ceremony of the Shanghai station, Ni Ming, secretary general of the Shanghai Anti-Cancer Association, said that the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors and the improvement of patients' quality of life are topics of common concern to the whole society, and in the current environment of continuous improvement of medical standards, continuous improvement of medical facilities, and continuous care of caring people, brain tumor patients will be expected to get better care and even return to normal life.

In their speeches, the two representatives of the patients' families expressed their gratitude to Huashan Hospital and the benevolent people in the society, shared their feelings about overcoming the disease, and sincerely wished all patients a speedy recovery.
In the video connection between Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macao, medical staff and patients encourage each other through screens. Ms. Kathy Oliver, President of the International Brain Tumor Alliance, also introduced the original intention of launching the "Travel the World for Brain Tumor Patients" public welfare project in the form of video, thanking all the staff for their enthusiastic participation and wishing cancer patients a speedy recovery.
Subsequently, under the leadership of Chen Taoxi, Wu Yiwen and Xie Wenjun, the medical staff and brain tumor patients and caring people jointly started a 3-kilometer walk. Along the way, they looked after each other, talked and laughed, and felt the beauty of nature and the warmth of life. The distance covered by each of them will be counted as a "donation" to the global campaign of "Traveling the World for Brain Tumor Patients", helping the International Brain Tumor Alliance to achieve the overall goal of "all participants can take a week around the earth".
The event also set up three love interactive sites, namely the source of strength, ten thousand horses galloping, and cohesion, from which participants can experience sports projects, feel the culture of care, take photos and share, watch patient painting exhibitions, participate in love public welfare mutual aid activities, and obtain full energy.
The International Brain Cancer Alliance organizes global events during the International Brain Tumor Awareness Week in October each year to raise public awareness of the cause of brain cancer care and care for patients and their families. This Shanghai station activity is the first landing Chinese mainland of "Brain Trekking" (Brain Trekking), hoping to call on all sectors of society to contribute to the cause of brain tumor prevention and treatment research, and achieve the important goal of "Healthy China 2030" to improve the survival of cancer patients at an early date.
