On October 29, the list of candidates from all walks of life was released one after another, and Li Huiqiong, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Hong Kong Democratic Association for the Advancement of Hong Kong (DAB), pointed out that the alliance 's candidates are all patriots'. On October 29, the DAB held a press conference and announced that it would send 18 people to run. Li Huiqiong said that Hong Kong has gained a lot of opportunities by virtue of the advantages of "one country, two systems", and with the Hong Kong National Security Law and the improvement of the election system to ensure the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong", Hong Kong society has been ruled by chaos and governance. At the same time, she pointed out that the deep-seated contradictions in Hong Kong society still plague the Hong Kong people, so the DAB put forward ten major election platforms, calling on the society to "innovate and seek the future" together, and jointly promote the government's governance to be more people-oriented, achieve fairness and justice, let the citizens live and work in peace and contentment, and let Hong Kong seize the opportunities of national development and integrate into the overall situation of national development.
Li Huiqiong stressed that the candidates this time are all patriots, but they certainly have their own ideas on how to promote development and how to resolve deep-seated contradictions in society, so there will be cooperation and competition on economic development and people's livelihood issues. She also called on the public to vote enthusiastically to elect the members of parliament who represent them.
On the evening of the same day, after the board of directors of the Federation of Trade Unions, it was announced that the theme of this election will be "Striving for Justice, Common Prosperity, innovation bureau and moving forward together", and 9 people will be sent out to elect the legislative council election, including 3 current legislators who are seeking re-election.
Wu Qiubei said that the Federation of Trade Unions will uphold the fine tradition of patriotism and love for Hong Kong, adhere to the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong", assist "one country, two systems" to go steady and far, promote the redistribution of social wealth, and do a good job in parliamentary work as much as possible. Wu Qiubei also pointed out that at present, this is a new stage in the implementation of "one country, two systems", and the Federation of Trade Unions, as a patriotic and Hong Kong-loving team with a history of more than 70 years, will actively act without hesitation and unshirkable responsibility in the new era, further do a good job in labor work, and promote social change.
Mai Meijuan, vice president of the federation of trade unions, said that when the federation drew up the list of candidates, it combined regional conditions, political atmosphere and personal wishes to strive to put "the most suitable people in the most suitable position." She pointed out that this election is the first Legislative Council election after improving the electoral system, which is different from the past, and it is necessary to use the political platform and work achievements to win the support of voters.
