Since ancient times, everyone has longed for immortality. Despite human efforts to evade or delay the aging process, aging seems to be an inevitable part of life. Why? Why do organisms disintegrate as they age? There is one word to describe it: aging. Aging refers to a state in which normal functions gradually deteriorate. At the cellular level, this means that the cells stop dividing and eventually die. It can also be applied to the whole organism, or to specific organs or tissues. Apparently, there are already some extant plant and animal species that seem to be immortal, and even if not, it can still live a long time compared to the lifespan of humans. In other words, these creatures may die because they may be killed by predators, or destructive changes in the environment, or suffer from disease. But unlike humans, they rarely die of old age.

Hello everyone, I am a master of inventory, in this issue, I will take stock of 10 kinds of creatures in the world that will never die. If you want to live a long life or never die, perhaps a serious study of these animals will help your desires.

In addition to their massive size, another surprising fact about Arctic right whales is that they can live for more than a hundred years. What's the secret? They can repair damaged DNA and therefore prevent the development of cancer. Scientists also believe that these whales can survive a lack of oxygen for a long time.

As the name suggests, these turtles are one of the largest species of tortoises in the world. These turtles take a long time to grow because they do not reach sexual maturity until they are over 30 years old. The oldest age of the confirmed tortoise is 255 years old, and this turtle comes from a tortoise named Advita at the Alpore Zoo in Calcutta, India. However, scientists revealed that some animals may live 2 times longer than before.

This shark is the longest-lived vertebrate in the world, with an average lifespan of 272 years and not reaching sexual maturity until the age of 150. The secret is obvious, it has an incredible ability to withstand extreme darkness and freezing temperatures at depths of 2200 meters.

This marine bivalve mollusk is special because its age is very easy to determine. Like a tree, its lifespan is recorded on the annual rings of its shell. What's more, these rings give us a deeper understanding of its life, with a wide ring indicating a year of abundant food and a narrow ring indicating less time of year. Because of this feature, a marine curtain clam can reach 507 years old, the oldest of its kind ever discovered. The secret of this longevity is related to the unusually thin production of reactive oxygen species in curtain clams, which are unstable oxygen-containing molecules. The accumulation of these molecules causes damage to DNA, RNA, and proteins, and causes cell death. Due to the reduction of reactive oxygen species in the body of the curtain clam, it is able to fight the common source of aging and survive for many centuries.

In the case of multicellular animals, sponges are the simplest. They do not have internal organs, digestive tract, nerves and muscle systems. However, a marine sponge specimen has been found for at least 11,000 years, and some studies have shown that the potential lifespan of these creatures can reach hundreds of thousands of years. The key to their longevity may lie in their simple structure. Biologists Andrey Lavrov and Igor Kosevich, who study the capabilities of marine sponges, have found that when six sponges suffer from tissue separation, cells are separated from each other by mechanical or chemical methods, and the sponges are able to re-form their original shapes.

Imagine that we could, on a whim, decide to reverse our aging at any point in our lives. Our hair will become less gray, our wrinkles will disappear, our bodies will become stronger, and our metabolism will speed up. We will be like teenagers, then like children, and finally like babies. Then we'll grow old again and live our lives again, not bad at all. This is the case with undead jellyfish. At any point in its life, jellyfish can reverse aging in a process called transdifferentiation, return to its earliest form, and then continue to live. As far as we know, this process can continue indefinitely. Anything from disability to old age, hunger or disease can trigger this mechanism. If left to their own devices, these jellyfish will regain 10 times their vitality in two years.

The creature is only 2.5 cm tall, a bit like a tree. However, there is no traditional mortality rate for hydras. They accomplish this feat using three different types of stem cells that are initially undifferentiated and can eventually turn into many different specialized cell types. These stem cells are actively renewing the body of the hydra, thus fending off any aging process that may reduce their mortality. In a laboratory setting, an estimated 5% of hydras survive this process to 1400 years.

These bacteria are very resilient to freezing because they have special proteins in their blood that prevent this from happening. While their hearts and brains are not very resistant to freezing and may die when completely frozen, they can be "resurrected" when thawed.

Rotifers are freshwater rotifers (zooplankton) that can be considered "immortal legends" because they can tolerate extreme conditions such as high, low and extreme pressure. In addition, they can go into "hibernation" and come back at any time they want to recover.

Also known as tardigrades, the tardigrade is probably the strongest animal on the planet. Although small (no more than 1.5 mm), these creatures can survive extreme conditions such as boiling (over 100°C), freezing (-272.8°C), cutting, drying, and even putting them in outer space to survive! In addition to this, they can tolerate extreme radiation and can stop their metabolism for a long time, and once exposed to water, they will "restore life".
