According to Japanese media reports, the event was hosted by the Tsugaru Wind and Snow Curling Association. The tour starts at Nichiren-mun myōsen-ji Temple. Local resident teachers first introduced the legendary story of Rentaifang, the ancestor of the Tsugaru Shamisen, to the international students. Then, Chinese students and other participants put on snowshoes and walked in Luye Park. On the snowfield, which is about 2 kilometers away, they switched into traditional snow walking tools and put on a blanket shawl that protects them from the cold. According to the relevant person in charge of the Tsugaru Blizzard Association, about 12,600 people experienced the event in the 28 years until 2015.
