When we think of Lü Bu, most of the adjectives we think of are tall, mighty, handsome, and heroic, sweeping the battlefield with a square sky painting blade, and riding a red rabbit horse through the mountains and rivers. "Lü Bu among people, red rabbit among horses", this is the unanimous evaluation of Lü Bu by posterity.
However, Lü Bu, who was considered to be unparalleled in the world at that time, was repeatedly defeated at the hands of one person, that is, Sun Jian, the founder of the State of Wu, one of the Three Kingdoms.
"Zhuo Sent The Eastern Commandery Taishou Hu Yi to ride five thousand blows, with Lü Bu as the riding governor. The cloth and the cloth are not compatible, and they attack hard, and they break it, and they are the governor of Huaxiong. "Zizhi Tongjian"
"Return to the army into Otani, ninety miles away from Luo. Zhuo zi came out and fought with Jian Jian among the tombs. Zhuo was defeated and left, but he was in the pond and gathered troops in Shaanxi. Jianjin went to Luoyang, attacked Lü Bu, and broke away. "Zizhi Tongjian"
From the two passages excerpted from the Zizhi Tongjian, it can be seen that Lü Bu in the main history was indeed defeated by Sun Jian at least three times. Here, some readers may question that the two defeats recorded by Lü Bu were appendages of Dong Zhuo and Hu Zhen when they were leaders. It cannot be denied that two of the defeats were indeed lü Bu's defeats to Sun Jian, but in "Zhuo's defeat, he was in the pond and gathered his troops in Shaanxi." Jianjin went to Luoyang, attacked Lü Bu, and broke away. It can be seen from this sentence that Lü Bu was defeated after following Dong Zhuo, and was defeated again when Luoyang was the main general. Therefore, whether Lü Bu was the main general or not, he was defeated by Sun Jian at least three times on the battlefield.
So why was Lü Bu, who was rumored to be a god, defeated by Sun Jian so easily? Take a look at the next insight!
