Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole talked about some of the things Mourinho did when he first coached Chelsea in a show. He said it was Jose Mourinho who made Chelsea terrible, and before Mourinho arrived, Chelsea were a friendly team.
In Carragher's programme, Joe Cole said: "<b>We hate Liverpool, we hate Manchester United, it was Mourinho who made us like this, he made us terrible. </b>Before Jose Mourinho, Chelsea were a good club, weren't they? We had a friendly players' bar and the other lads would come and play with us and then have a nice evening in London. It's a very friendly team, Mourinho recognized that and then he said: 'I want to fight these most terrible teams and make everyone hate me'. ”
"The head coach passed on such an order that we had to follow. It's scary against Liverpool and it's scary against us, isn't it? It must be boring to watch games like this because we're all defending each other and the only ones who like these are italian tacticians. I really hate games like this, there's no space, it's not going to start, it's horrible and I can't enjoy it. ”
Subsequently, Joe Cole revealed that Mourinho has criticized players with fierce words on certain occasions, including after Chelsea lost to Barca in the 2005 Champions League. The Blues lost 2-1 at Camp Nou that season, and despite the second leg of the draw, Mourinho criticised some players in the dressing room.
Joe Cole recalls: "He would always criticize me and he would always criticize some of the other players. When we lost at Camp Nou, he let us sit down in the dressing room and then he walked past each of us. The mouth says: 'Do you think you're a top player?' You're frozen at Camp Nou. You didn't show any guts, you're a France international and you should be doing well'. ”
"He walked past us and he absolutely crucified everyone. When he walked up to me, I thought he was going to give me a left-handed punch, but he said to me and Duff, 'You two, it's not bad.'" ”
In 2007, Mourinho's Chelsea did not make a good start, and he was subsequently sacked by the club, while Joe Cole played for the Blues until 2010. The last manager he experienced here was Carlo Ancelotti, which Joe Cole says is the great manager he experienced when he was at Stamford Bridge.
Recalling the first time he met Ancelotti, Joe Cole said, "When he first came here, we had a team meal, I was late, and then there was only a seat next to the head coach.
