Do you know the story of Sissies in Greek mythology? It is said that there was a poor man named Sissis, who was punished for making a mistake and wanted to push a large stone up a mountain. However, every time you push it to the top of the mountain, the big rock will slide down and roll to the bottom of the mountain. So Sissy rolled stones up the hill every day, over and over again.
There is such an insect that always rolls on a steep hill with a round ball made of grain, sometimes for their own, sometimes for their babies. It always falls and gets up, falls again, gets up again, until it succeeds. The way they fell and got up reminded people of the Sissies in Greek mythology, so people also called them Sissis.
Sissies are industrious and lively. When they find the right place, they start building their homes. Sissy Dad and Sissy Mom would rub, roll, carry and store food together. They use knives on their front feet to cut food into many small pieces. Then, Papa Sissy and Mom Sissy slapped and squeezed again and again, making the food into a pea-sized ball.
When the balls are ready, Sissy Dad and Sissy Mom will roll hard to form a hard shell that protects the soft food inside from becoming too dry. Then, Mother Sissies placed her long back foot on the ground and her front foot on the ball, pulled the ball and walked backwards. Papa Siss stood on the other side of the ball, head down, pushing behind with his back foot.
Papa Sissy and Mum Sissies are tenacious, and if something gets in the way, they will try to climb over. Until I found that I really couldn't get over it, I would give up this path.
Finally, Sissy's mother thought the job was done and ran nearby to find a suitable place to hide the ball. Papa Sissie waited on top of the ball. When Sissies finds the place to hide the ball, she will first dig a shallow hole. After pushing the ball into the hole, Sissy's father was standing by. Mother Sissy, on the other hand, dug hard with her feet and head.
