Thunder Shazam 2: Wrath of the Gods is here! The first film featured the collective return of numerous casts, including Zachary Levy's return as Shazam. Helen Mirren joined the role of the arch-villain Hespera, who is an ancient Greek mythological character and the daughter of atlas, the titan god, and this role does not seem to be directly related to DC Comics, and may be a more original interpretation. Liu Yuling plays her sister, the main villain Calypso, and the sequel is scheduled to be released in North America on June 2, 2023.
"Thunder Shazam" tells the story of teenager Billy who is struck by lightning every time he shouts "Shazam", giving six gods the ability to become an adult superhero Shazam. The screenwriter of the first film, Henry Gayden, returned, and the director David Gayden returned. F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran return.
